I know I'm going to look stupid but I had an argument with a freind but now I am confused!

Can you allocate focus to anything else than jacks. Such as units or solos?

No. Focus goes to Warjacks and spells. There are some units that can give Focus to your Warcaster but you can't give focus to your regular units.

Also note that you can only allocate focus to jacks that are in your casters battlegroup. So no allocating to a jack that's being marshaled, or to a jack in someone elses battlegroup.

AND you can't allocate more than 3 focus to any one warjack.

You can't allocate focus to units and solos because there is no such a rule

You CAN allocate candy to units and solos, however, you should be the
only one to eat it.

Units and solos in Epic Vlad's control area can spend focus on Vlad to boost melee attack and damage rolls provided Vlad has his Transference spell active.

It's not what OP asking,
and Vlad with transference on did not allocate any focus to units and solos

For a new player, this may seem like the warcaster is allocating focus to his troops or perhaps his opponent is using Epic Vlad and playing it wrong. I was letting him know that something similar to what he is asking about is legal in a certain situation.
