Several of us regulars down at Cut n Thrust FLGS in Bristol have started to collect armies for this system with the possibility of an event in the future. Does anyone know a good forum for this sort of stuff, I had a cursory look but didn't see one. Is there a lot of discussion on here as this seems to be mainly FoW.
I have just ordered a bunch of Zvezda models, do you know if they have to be washed as I got away with not bothering with resin FoW stuff?
I'm planning a 100yrs War English force which should be fun and allow me to play Wood Elves with out all the Blood forests and OTT magic basically!

I would wash them just to be sure. I find than some models still have the coatings from the casting process.
So to ensure correct paint cover I wash everything but some metals.

I was actually going to try spraying some later today and seeing what happens. GW spray does cover well and if it all goes wrong I'll wash the rest...
I'll let you know what happens.

You need to wash plastic in washing up liquid.
the mould release agent will not allow the paint to stick, it will just peel off.

I have a 100yrs war english force, in 15mm scale. If you already play a 25mm wargame then 15mm is a great bit of fun to paint, - I simply just do 2 layers onall parts of my models, looks really crisp! I use Essex Miniatures - check out the site. I only live 5 mins away from the store (what a find)! Whats more is it's only £2.25 for 8 models!

Essex stuff does look nice they do need to make the website less crap tho...
I'm doing 25mm stuff and have bought this set http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1166 and http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1245 x2, That lot was about £25 for about 2000 points worth. That's a whole new world of cheap. I'm thinking of getting (and slowly replacing my basic infantry with) these guys: http://www.perry-miniatures.com/index2.html
I'm not totally sold on any footknights I've seen yet, but that's fine for now as I have more Zvezda ones than I'll need for ages.
Peatreed what rules do you use WAB?

I do use WAP - rulebook is full colour and very nice! Plus, if you order the rulebook, you get any other book for half price from the WAB online store!

Yeah I treated myself to the rulebook, big errata with it though :( ,I might just print the 2 pages I need for the 'army book' however. I was wondering because of the scale drop, but I suppose it doesn't make any difference provided your opponent is also 15mm!

Nearly finished painting my first unit and no peeling yet.
I didn't bother washing them in the end, a quick poll suggested it didn't seem to make much difference. I sprayed with several coats of GW black (which seems to hold on everything) and then painted as normal and finally dipped with Army Painter quickshade. That stuff should hold everything together. I did leave painted stuff overnight before dipping and still had no probs, other people had a problem where they had peeling if left before dipping but it didn't seem to happen to me.
