Hey guys !

I got a box of Kabalits warriors. Among them stand some females, with long hair.
I want to paint their hair to look black, with blue reflects. Do you see what i mean?

Do you advise me to paint them black, then brush(?) them with blue, or to paint them black, and then wash them blue ?

Thanks in advance.

I would do black, then a subtle dry-brush of dark blue. I've only ever seen blue wash look oily when used over black- and not very blue at all.

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

Don't drybrush hair, it gives it a weird texture.

Your better off layering on the blue along the contours of the sculpted hair. You will get a much nicer effect.

I'd suggest painting them a dark, dark blue and then washing them with black.

Really? I've always thought mine have looked ok. Granted, it takes some practice to get it even, but I've not had problems.

Having said that, I am open to suggestion and will try your way next time.

Try necron abyss, and if not dark enough add black

I would go with a darkish blue (regal should do) then wash with badab black a few times

Hey !

So i painted it in necron abyss, and then washed it with chaos black. I think it's fine, but my opponents (and nevertheless friends) saw it black... Must be the lights

Next time i'll try the other way, paint black and wash necron abyss.

Thanks everyone for the advertisements.
