I think the paint is a little bit thick, other than that, it looks good

Looks like your highlight lines are a little thick. Might be worth you trying to use the edge or just the very tip of the brush to do them next time. It's a technique that needs a little practice but looks very good when you get the hang of it.

I like it, I have just made some Storm Shield out of some plastic eggs laying around from those gum ball macines my kids love. there looking great but problem is I dont think Chaos can use them so giving them to my sons Ultra Marine Termi company.

Well its a nice game piece. A substitute for Lysander deserves a bit more flash IMO. How would this model be distinguished on the field from any other Terminator Thunderhammer?

Don't get me wrong it's a nice piece, but it needed some more conversion for a named character proxy.

I know Scibor is probably one of the best artists out there but for inspiration and comparison look at this:



(I can't do that either, but some degree of customization for a proxy character is warranted.)

I like him a lot. Your scrollwork/fake writing looks really nice.

As others said, the highlighting could be smoother/finer. I'm in a similar place, with my highlights too thick. I'm trying to learn to make mine finer and blend them.

One other thing is the mold lines- they're really a let down, especially on a model with so much work put into it.

I specially like the 3rd "IN YAR FACE" picture, looks like you like it too, since it is your avatar (at the moment I'm posting). It would fit as a movie poster or magazine frontpage.
("HAMMER TIME", "WHO'S NEXT", "ARE YOU TALKING TO ME?"... You name it)

On the other hand, I also think it is little customized as to represent a character rather than a "regular" (as regular as they get to be) terminator or sergeant, tops.

I like your style, A little more wash (devlan mud) on the face would give it a more natural and less cartoony feel. The pictures are good example of how light, flash and exposure can change how your Mini's look, the garish one with the Flash makes it look awful. The first few under a more natural light looks good.

I think your painting style is good and you have made better attempts on highlights than i have on my current miniatures. A light thinned wash on the Skulls and the Shield would bring it together. I like your base too, I think it is better than 80% of Painted armies out there. 8/10

To Augustus, while I agree with your ascertion that the model maybe doesn't encapsulate Lysander that well, it is a "Counts As" so comparing it to a master modellers work like Scribor, is abit like saying "Granny your oil painting is lovely but it is not as good as Leonado Da Vinci's Mona Lisa".

looks great but why does he have regular shoulder pads and not termie ones?

This model started his life as a deathwing twin lightning claw termie.
I cut those arms off and replaced them with his current ones, but i did not have any termie shoulder pads so i just used power armour ones.

i think it just is a greay model...
