Looks fun, but there's a couple small problems.

1. You can only have Mortars on half (rounded up) of your Globadiers.

2. The halberd / shield combo. You can't use them together, so the shield would be just versus ranged attack. Which isn't a waste of 2 points or anything, but I just wanted to mention it.

3. The spears on clanrats are rarely worth it. It robs of you the parry save for another rank of clan rat attacks. That said, combined with a doomflayer it might be worthwhile, but I think I'd rather have the clanrats stick around longer so the doomflayer can do its job.

So pretty much other than #1, minor nit picks is all. Good luck!

Oops.

I know it's pretty much useless. I just had 2 points I did not know what to do with.

This is more of an issue with the IoB set. Some of them have spears. I guess I could cut the shafts down to make them HWs though.

So pretty much other than #1, minor nit picks is all. Good luck!

The other option with the IoB Spear Clanrats is to use them as Stormvermin, all the Spears are curved over so look a bit like Halberds anyway and adding some armour bits is probably easier than turning them into hand weapons (if you even bother with adding armour anyway). If you are trying to make a shooty list then this works fine as you are mostly after the weapon teams anyway.

I love how random this army could be You could devastate your opponent in a few turns or you could misfire like hell!!

I'm not very familiar with Skaven clan fluff, do the Skyre not use slaves? One of the nasty things about Skaven is that you can lock something down with slaves and blast the heck out of it!

He is taking Clanrats because they allow weapon teams...slaves do not...that said, i would make the WFT Clanrat units a little smaller to get some small 20 rat units of slaves to bog down some opponents, and also so you can shoot into combat

I too would drop a unit of Clanrats their weapon team to get some slaves. But you'll probably need a unit of at least 30, preferably around 40. Slaves die very, very fast against 8th ed. shooting and magic, and against 8th ed. sized units.

On the spears vs. handweapon thing, I'd point out that you only need 51% of a unit to resemble what the unit is actually equipped with. So you could have 17 clanrats with spears in each unit of 35, no worries.

Ooooh... that makes sense. Yeah, I'd drop one of those and pick up two units of Slaves. Preferably drop something else for a third unit, but not as necessary at that point.

This looks like a fun list! Do you actually have a lot of the rats to run it? I can't imagine painting so many, even without slaves...

I am currently looking at 80 goddamn slaves to be painted...I am trying to come up with a quick and nasty dipping scheme that will make them look close to my more classically painted troops....they are slaves by the way, so they shouldnt be too clean and sharp looking...I am thinking different grey shades on the clothes, with brown armor for a leather effect for those models that are "armored clanrats"...and then a quick dunk in strong tone quickshade!

That sounds like a pretty good method for slaves! You could also try the white primer followed only by washes technique, if your other models are also bright.

I'm going to try the washes technique over a grey primer, and see if it gives too dark of a result or not...

I pretty much paint my slaves the same way I paint my clanrats. Leather armour, rusty(er) weapons, less fur, more skin. And a faded blue-purple wash under the eyes and on the hands for that sickly, half-starved look. So...it's actually more work than my clanrats...but I've only got about 60 more to go. And 40 more clanrats.
...I think a Warhammer army should be as good as the amount of work you put into it.

Weapon teams thrive in an environment where the other side has a lot of bigger threats to shoot.

Your best bet, generically, is to max out your rare choices before even thinking about weapon teams. Those 300-odd points would get you an A-bomb, or a pair of catapults, rather than 5 single-wound, T3, 5+ (3+ for doomflayers) armor save teams that die to a single volley from a decent sized missile unit.

18 shots -> 6 hits (presuming long range and BS 3) -> 3 wounds (presuming S3 shooting) -> 1-2 wounds -> dead team.

If the shooters are BS4, S4, or AP then even fewer shots are needed.

If you want to stay strictly Skyre, make a large-bore Plague Mortars (with an observer on a pole about the height of the catapult for LOS) and/or a mechanical A-bomb.

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!
My job here is done.

That certainly could work, considering the new Abomination kit.

I will say, though, that multiple targets can be a good thing. To kill a weapon team is easy. To kill all the weapon teams is another thing. Don't forget that they get a 4+ Ward vs. shooting when they're by their parent unit.
Of course, I'd rather have a little of both-I'm not sure if I'd say always max out your Rare choices, but making your opponent pick between two Cannons or three 'Throwers is always a good situation.

One sneaky trick you could try is to put a naked Engineer in with your weapon teams. It effectively gives them another 4+ Ward until the Engineer dies. On one side, that's pretty good for 15pts. On the other, it's 15pts more toward an already pricey and fragile model.
