I have recently acquired these from Sbu:
5x Russian KV2's
5x Russian T34/85's
3x Russian SU 152's
3x Russian KV 85's

I was wondering could i use them in a single army or are they from different lists?

The reason why i am asking is because i may start gaming with them and i dont have any of the rule books.

Cheers

The odd ones out there are the KV2's. They are used from the Invasion of Russia and most had bit the dust by the end of 41. All the other stuff is Late Mid War onwards.

Would this be a good time to point out than one KV-2 was seen in service with a Soviet unit in Berlin in 1945... Probably the only one left running! The Russians never threw anything away...

It is the anomaly though. Virtually all gone by end of '41... and never fire the gun when the turret is turned sideways!

Historically it would be unusual to find T-34/85 and the rarer KV-85 in the same unit as they fulfilled different roles in the Red Army.

Ok, so i should leave out the KV-85's and KV-2's as i want to stick to the history?

Also, what do you advise i should get next?

T-34/85s and SU152s are covered in a lot of late war lists. River of Heroes is my personal favourite and just those 10 tanks are about 960 points which is a good start, and can either be the start of a heavy assault gun company, a T-34/85 company or an engineer-sapper battalon based on the lists in that book.

Thank you Legoburner, i'm going to look at some sample lists and try to decide what i want them to be the start of.

Try to pick troops that will allow you to use either the T34s OR the KV85s, that way you'll have lots of list variety.

Infanrty next I would say. Lots to choose from and Plastic as well!

Aldramelech, you say there are plastic soviet infantry, i have looked on the battlefront website and can only see metal infantry. Could you post a link to where you found them please?

Cheers
