I'm putting together a Dual Wing army for a tournament this weekend and while I have all the
TH/
SS terminators I need, I don't have the actual Cyclone Missile Launcher bits. I put in an order to the Warstore, but with the release of the
DA FAQ last week, they sold out and won't be able to get my Cyclones to me in time for the tourney. That's okay, I had a backup plan. Since building my mechanized marines, I've had a slew of
HK missiles sitting around gathering dust, so I figured I'd put a couple of them together, stick them on top of a Terminator and
voila Cyclone. And they're decent enough looking, but when my real Cyclones come in, I look forward to assembling them and using 'em. So, I decided that I would magnetize my
CML conversions. That way, when my real ones come in, I can just pull them off, throw a magnet on the new ones and slap them on. Here is what my
CML conversions look like, both on and off the Terminators.
My other problem, is that I tend to tinker with my lists until the last minute. Unfortunately, with the Dual Wing armies, there's not a whole lot of place for putting 5 points here and 10 points there except for with the Ravenwing Squadrons. I'm pretty happy arming the squad members with meltas, but I get undecided about what to give the Sgt, particularly if I've got a few points to spare. So, I installed a few magnets on my Sgt's bike - one on the right side of the fuel tank, one on the storage boxes on the back of the bike, and one on the bike fairing on the left side behind his leg. Then, I installed magnets in the side of a bolt pistol, a plasma pistol, and a melta bomb (the three things I'm most likely to have him armed with). I can then tinker with my list all I like and still keep the model
WYSIWYG by attaching the correct equipment.
