Some pictures of my first army that I am working on. I wanted to change it up a bit and went with a scarab beetle theme. I would like some feedback, I know the pictures could use some work. I am currently working on the Prince and other parts of the army. The one thing still missing from these models are the beetles on the bases which I am trying to use little purple beads.

All images are in my gallery: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-31481-13868_Tomb%20King%20Scarab%20Army.html

Thanks for any feedback.

Entire Army

Unit of Spearmen

Cavalry

Now to read up on some picture taking articles and see how I can improve that aspect.

First of all congrats on putting together your first army, it's more than most people ever do.

Secondly, the painting is great, simple but very effective.

Thirdly, don't go too mad on expanding. TK are strongly rumoured for an update this year (possibly around September/October), so new minis should be on the way.

More reasons to expand. I always tend to buy things I know will get replaced by new models, just to have the old included in the army, makes a more unique army once the new ones come through...

I have a great love for Tomb Kings, and these ones look great! Love the worn-out look to the bones, and nice choice of colours for the shields!

I have recently been diagnosed with swelling in the brain, so please excuse spelling mistakes and faulty sentences. I am losing my ability to type and talk effectively, but dammit, that is not going to stop me from trying.

It's a bit earlier than that.

Thanks for the comments.

I was trying to keep the colour scheme simple, espcially for my first army. My plan for the more elite units is to swap the colours, so the purple is the primary and the orche is the accent.

As soon as I get my prince done I will post pictures. I currently have to finish the prince, two priests, casket, bone giant and some swarms.

And I am not too worried about the new mini's coming out. I am not allowed to buy any more for this army until what I have already is finished, so sayeth the wife.

Immediately identify where you got the terrain pieces!

The pieces are from Hirst Arts, the Egyptain range:

Mold 98. I have other ones and once I get more plaster in and the army done some more I plan to make some towers.

The statue is a Hirst Arts base with a Reaper mini I believe on it.

Thanks for sharing that. Undead was my first army I played in WFB and is to date the largest army I own. When the split came (i.e. Undead became TK or VC) I went w/ VC because I had a lot of zombies. Always had an interest in firing up a TK army though. I have the new edition rules but have been so caught up in 40K and my Death Guard that I've only given it a glance instead of the studious attention it deserves.

This is an inspiring thread, I really enjoy the color scheme and then attention to detail. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
