Working a Warlord Titan for an upcoming Apocalypse battle with my Nemesis. Our rivalry began 15 years ago in 29 Palms Ca and ironically that is probably where I'm going to end my career. I bought this guy off of eBay thinking it will be easy to modify and fit into my own army. I knew it looked bad from the pics but when I got it, it looked like it was built by a half Chaos half Ork mechanic. The shoulder mounted weapons are too small, legs were too narrow, armor plates too small, and finally I hate the square head. On the positive side. the torso has a pretty solid shape and I like the feet structure even though it is different from the norm. I finished the disassembly and began assembly on the legs this weekend.

I started my first 40K army while I was based in Twentynine Palms back in 1999. So I take it that you're going to modify your new Titan then? Can't wait to see the work.

Semper Fi! Waiting on some Aquila bits from Forgeworld to finish the details on the legs. Starting on the head next. Using a 2 3/4 PVC pipe elbow as the head. I really like DBs design and hope he doesn't mind me copying it, except the top of the head is going to be flat.

Worked on the head today. 75% done with the constuction. I still need to glue on the top brow and the three lense pieces that seperate the windows. I also need to apply green stuff to the bottom of his head where I made a rough cut. Overall I'm pleased, it's not as cock-eye as I thought it was going to be.

What a revamp indeed! I saw the first picture and thought and now I am like
Seriously, this looks like it could be very promising, good luck!

Thanks for all the positive comments. I finished the construction of the head today and the first set of the main plating on the torso. I'm starting on the weapons now. I plan on making a Volcano Cannon and Laser blaster for the arm weapons. For the carapace mounted weapons I plan on making a double barrelled turbo-laser and a gatling blaster for anti-infantry. I don't think you can go wrong with three strength "D" weapon systems.

The new one looks like its going to be awesome when done.

Keep up the good work and don't lose focus.

Is it going to be a loyalist titan or a chaos one when done?

Scale shot! We must have scale shots!

The basic shape looks perfect for a titan, but I think you need more details on the legs and shoulders, either that or some freehand painted on when you reach that stage.

Good luck with the making of the guns!

Sounds ambitious. you do realize the gatling blaster is only allowed as an arm mount?

Yes, it's going to be a loyalist titan. He stands 26 inches tall. I plan on adding much more detail to it, to include rivets and additional plating. I have a bunch of aquilas inbound from Forgeworld. I'm also going to add bits from the Sanctum Imperialis to the shoulder areas hopefully to mimic the Warlord Titan in the Apocalypse Book.

I meant Vulcan Mega bolter for anti-infantry for the carapace mount.

I finished the arm weapons today. Still have to add some more detail and wires to the bottom once I hang them off the titan. The left arm is a laser blaster and the right arm is a volcano cannon.

Progress has been a little slow lately. I finished the construction of the Laser Blaster and managed to magnetize it with no problems but the Volcano Cannon arm was an epic failure. The weight of the cannon is too off of balance. No matter how many magnets I applied, it would not hold. Looks like I'm going to have to pin that arm.
Started painting as well, to keep motivated. I think I'm going to keep the head boltgun metal and the body blue. I was hoping to use some cheap stuff but it is a little too light for my liking. Probably just going to use Ultramarine blue since that's the color of my Knight and Warhound Titans anyway.
I plan on working on the shoulder Aquilas now. Not as big as I would like them but hopefully they will "pop" better after a layer of plastic card is applied on top of the cardboard and everything is painted. Still waiting on the Forgeworld Aquilas for the legs.

Finished building the Shoulder Aquilas last night and started painting the torso today. The torso still looks too plain. I was thinking about adding some more purity seals. Any suggestions? The head looks a little big too but to late to change that.

It looks way better than the original, you have truly rid the world of a ghastly creation and given it a new life. And considering what you started out with it looks good now
The slightly too large head is a minor thing and it's acceptable.

What shoulder mounts are you planning for it ?? I think it would benefit from some large chunky mounts to give it a little more beffy-ness, which btw you did great on the legs.

as for detailing you could make some titanicus T's and throw on it, and loads of purity seals and a few opus machina (the cog and skull)

Looking forward to seeing it painted

Thanks damned artificer and thanks for the advice! I'm a fan of your work as well. I'm going to build two double-barrelled turbo lasers turrets for the carapace. I might make more weapons options later.

Invicta, not that my skills in constructing such a large scale project has come anywhere near what you're doing, but have you heard of Hozelock Connectors (http://spares.hozelock.com/cat/hozelock-services-home/watering-spares/connectors/), they could be incorporated in to the model and allow swappable upgrades to be made easier?

I know they're available here in the UK but not so sure about the US?

No Probs, I just saw how your Titans arms were attached and they sort of popped into my head as being a quick and easy coupling system that can take a bit of weight, after all they can withstand water pressure so a Volcano Cannon should be child's play .

Past few days progress. I need to add much more detail to the hip joints, looks too plain. Ordered my Large Aquilas from Forgeworld Over three weeks ago, still nothing? Anyone else ever order from Forgeworld and how long did it take?

Looking fantabulous! The details and paint really make it look really good.

I don't envy the servitor who had to stick up those purity seals! It is a long way down

(I am sure your FW stuff will arrive soon enough, you would think that with the price of postage it would arrive in a timely fashion!)

Finished the base coat on the body tonight. Began building the carapace mounted weapons. Going with double barreled turbo lasers for now. They are going to be magnetized for transport so I'll have the option to swap them out later. Still waiting on my Forgeworld crap.

Finished the carapace weapons tonight. The cannon elevations are off from one another but they are shooting at different targets right? That's my story at least. Plan on finishing the painting and hopefully most of the detail work this weekend. I have a 1/2 Landraider shell left over from one of my conversions. I plan on putting it on the base as the Titan's first victim.

Finished the base today. Put a some Landraider bits I had leftover as part of the scenery. Waiting on some Chaos Icons to add to the tank. Made some flames out of greenstuff to simulate smouldering metal but I don't like how the colors came out. Any suggestions to improve them is appreciated. I did a couple base coats of fiery orange, then dry brushed golden yellow and dry brushed sunburst yellow.

Built a sensor array for the carapace and some dry brushing on the torso. Still have to do a lot of detail work and base coat the legs. Also, I'm planning on adding some generic titan banners. Getting close to being done.
