Are the 10mm NorthAG minis not plastic? I've never handled them/seen them in person, in photos I've seen it looked like they came on sprues, assumed it would have been hard plastic like their 15mm ranges.

Do 1/144 plastics work with 10mm stuff? Also, I’ve heard from Dropzone groups that N-scale (for trains) works for terrain and civilian vehicles.

Sadly not....

They use this new "Ultracast". cheap board game pvc-like plastic. Very poor quality and easy bending (hot water doesn't help much).

1/144 is 12mm I think, at least that's what Victrix packaging says.

Everything old is new again! But seriously, this is a good move on their part.

Aye it indeed is, i just kinda wish the sprue itself had a wee bit more variety, maybe some oval shields or ones with thicker, reinforced rims in the mix.

Buy a historical kit (from WGA or victrix)- oval shields are a dime a dozen!

Hopefully going forward every time they make a kit that requires a different kind of shield they will simply tool a new shield sprue alongside it?

That seems to be the plan, assuming the shield can be used in multiple kits.

Where shields are concerned, I would buy a ton of cheap sprues with kite or heater shields. I need a ton of them for my projects and don't really like getting too many metal ones.

Yeah, seems like a weird choice to make shields which very much wouldn't be standardised all identical to each other. They could have included a bunch of different boss styles (including bossless), different sizes, variant shapes, visible planks instead of what seems to be leather facing, rims... there are enough variables that every single shield on that sprue could be slightly different while being entirely period-appropriate.

Great point.

The lack of reinforced rims really bothers me. Does anybody know if the back has woodgrain/details? These look like the worst of the historical manufacturers' shields.
You would have to buy transfers or paint free hand to make these at all interesting.

Those represent the cheapest Dark Age shields, the roundshields in the Goth/Germans set will have rims.

Those shields are perfectly suited for western germanic People like franki, saxoni or alemanni.

Nice try, Wargames Atlantic, but you’re still not going to stop me from equipping my Napoleonic Prussians with Hoplons.

It’s from a Fireforge Knight command sprue. The Teutonic Knights, I believe.

More like werewolves, i think.

Probably with Laser rifles and bionic limbs, knowing WGA.

Awesome.

I wonder if they'll also be compatible with the goblins.

It sounds like this is their goal... but I would rather have the werewolf set you described.

I bloody hate werewolves with weapons. So if there is no pure fangs&claws option then it will be a waste of box for me.

It's WGA, the last thing they'd do is not give you options.

Also, big ol' news, WGA's gonna make bases now!
https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/a-new-kind-of-25mm-base

They thin, they come with recessed one side for integral bases, and they come with a magnet hole.
