Dakka's Killteam Kompetition has officially come to a close.

The public voting made it very clearly a two-horse race and the private final judges voting was quite decisive.

We felt that this fantastic entry:

by: Klaus, Not Santa

Was far and away best matched the theme combined with a very high level of painting. So congrats to him and a big thanks to everyone who submitted their fantastic models as part of the competition!

He wins the signed copy of the Deathwatch RPG from Fantasy Flight as a just reward for his awesome work.

You can check out more pictures of the amazing winning entry in his Dakka gallery.

If you didn't see the rest of the entries, you can still check them out in the voting thread here.

Thanks once again to Fantasy Flight Games for providing the prize for this contest!

Wow respect for him , not for the incredible painting and converting. But if only even for the sheer amount of effort and heart he puts into the competition.

I really wish we had some better pics for this.

I've bought my last models from GW on October 10th, 2011. Since then I've bought none, I am against their price policy. Screw them.

Congrats to the winner, kudos to all those who entered.

Hey guys,
Boy, that was a lot of fun I have to say. I was impressed with the entries we received and was expecting the quality of the miniatures. But Klaus' entry was something I'd only hoped for when I came up with the contest.

Congratulations to the winner.

Honorable mention to the second place who got only 1 vote less (352 to 353). He should be presented here as well at least.

Thanks guys!
I'm very proud to be the winner - it was a very tight "race" and actually every participant deserved the win.
All the works were stunning.
I had a lot of fun building the diorama, and was "lucky" that I was on medical leave, recovering from a hernia operation, and had 3 weeks to work on this piece.

On the piece itself, I have to mention that I don't have much Space Marine stuff - especially no fancy weapons, so I decided form the begining to base the entry rather on the situation than on any fancy weaponry.
So I developed the idea of a Deathwatch Killteam arriving on Dencara to defend a holy, ancient shrine against relentless attacks by the Orks.

If you're interested a bit more on the build and paint, and how it developed, check out my post with over 70 images in my blog:
http://fischers-design-shop.blogspot.com/2011/02/stemming-green-tide.html
Again, thank you all.
I will wear the signature with pride!

Congratulations Klaus, a well deserved win! I was a little disappointed with the number of votes I got since people could vote for as many entries as they liked but when I saw Klaus' entry I knew I had not put nearly enough effort in! Well done to Skumle Rafte too they were nice models well painted.
