I was thinking of running Kromac but at 15 points with his abilities he kind of feels like cheating especially since a lot of the players will be new to the game and his assassination runs always seem to come from left field even for vets so I thinking eKaya is a bit more straight forward for my opponent.

15 points

eKaya & Laris

Pureblood Warpwolf

Feral Warpwolf

Interestingly enough these are lists I actually intended to be fairly competitive and on second review I realized they built into her tier list which made me laugh.

I figure at 15 points the list will be very straight forward and easy for my opponent to grasp but still be difficult to deal with without the whole "HOW THE EF DID YOU DO THAT!?"

It gives me 3 warbeasts 2 heavies and one light as well as it satisfies eKaya's tier 1 benefits which is advanced deployment and on circle of orboros models which are already ridiculously fast it makes them solidly ridiculous for getting across the board.

eKaya has a balanced tool box of spell nothing too innately OP although granting her battle group stealth is close.

25 points

eKaya & Laris

Pureblood Warpwolf

Feral Warpwolf

Gnarlhorn Satyr

Shifting stones

The change to 25 is an odd one I am unsure whether going for another beast or tossing in druids or skinwalkers was the better idea... but that many beasts gives me a lot of redundancy for damage relocation and fury generation.

35 Points

eKaya & Laris

Pureblood Warpwolf

Feral Warpwolf

Gnarlhorn Satyr

Druids of Orboros

Skinwalkers

Shifting stones

At 35 is where this list really shines, the druids can all but lock down enemy spell casting(and nuke or disable when they need to), the skin walkers can be a meat shield from hell when played right and the warp wolves can eat pretty much anything they charge the gnarl horn is there mostly to make me laugh when an opponent unwittingly moves a little too close to it. The full tier benefits all but lock down enemy shooting for most lists, the speed boosts and advanced deployment mean I will be where I want when I want and it will be my prerogative when to engage.

This list isn't ultra competitive but it is new player friendlier than what I had in mind for Kromac and I can introduce his list when the final tournament at the end of the grow league happens, once the new players are more adept at spotting coming assassinations.

for the first lists maybe not using tier lists is a good thing. Learn the basics, then learn the rest...

I think using epics as a learning tool is not the best thing to do as these are a lot more subtle then their prime equivelant. Then again I understand that they are just a different caster to learn.

I think the list will do fine and I wish you good luck. I love the warpwolf threesome, but a gnarlhorn instead of the stalker will also work just fine.

lol i find it funny that you want to be "nice" and use eKaya at 15pts

ekaya's threat range and yoyo is a spirit breaker at that point level

run everyone forward turn 1 and turn 2 just keeping out of your opponents charge range
on next turn run laris back towards your table edge making sure he's still in ekaya's control area
eKaya activates, dogpiles, buffs whatever, leaving two fury on herself.
pop feat
spirit shift to laris.
wolves wreck face, running hot
wolves port back to Kaya

now it doesnt always turn out like this as positioning is key but the ability to hurt your opponent with no chance for them to get back at you is priceless.

Hey, I just met you,
and this is crazy,
but I'm a demon,
possess you, maybe?

I have been playing Warmachine/Hordes for quite some time, so nothing new for me however, even for our newer players all of them have played tabletop wargames and are pretty familiar with how warmachine/hordes works so every few of them will be fresh meat so that isn't as much of a concern out side of the first week.

Like I said the Gnarl horn is there mostly for my amusement as it makes my opponent really think about putting anything within 6 inches of him.

@Bakerofish: it's nicer than Kromac with pureblood and feral

The reason I chose eKaya is it allows me to demonstrate proper positioning with out a lot of the board control that Kromac has, which will allow my opponents to play a bit more open and aggressive instead of always trying to keep Kromac way away from their caster.
