I have two lists and I ain't sure which list is the better or if either list is any good. Here goes:
1)
HQ:
CCS: 4x Melta. 90pts
-Chimera: HHF. 55pts
Troops:
2xVets w/3xPlasma guns. 115pts
-Chimera: HHB. 55pts
2xVets w/3xMelta guns. 100pts
-Chimera: HHF. 55pts
Heavy Support:
Griffon: HHB. 75pts
Griffon: HHB. 75pts
Total: 945pts (Remainder to be spent on Misc. upgrades)
Or
2)
HQ:
CCS: 4x Melta. 90pts
-Chimera: HHF. 55pts
Troops:
2xVets w/3xPlasma guns. 115pts
-Chimera: HHB. 55pts
Vets w/3xMelta guns. 100pts
-Chimera: HHF. 55pts
Fast Attack:
Hellhound: HHF. 130pts
Hellhound: HHF. 130pts
Total: 900pts (Remainder I'm not sure maybe Marbo or Straken but I can't possibly spend 100pts on upgrades)
At the moment I'm currently leaning towards number 2 and in case it isn't clear the HHs and griffons are for horde control.
C&C very much appreciated.

I would say List one, but I would drop both griffions for a single leman russ. Much better than one

yup, #1. More vets are better vets. I also agree, though, that you could probably stand to upgrade the griffons to something better.

I guess the Griffons are there for Horde Control, an aspect in which, I think, they can surpass a Leman Russ. Those precise S6 AP4 large blasts are hell for Orks and 'nids...I would give them a try.

We'll I suppose if a little boring the first list is better if you value more troops (which silly 5th ed does) but what would be worth while to spend 205pts on (assuming I drop the griffons) because I feel one AV14 vehicle is just asking for all the lascannons. So what could I spend it on because at the moment I feel that it's a little light on horde control.

Well, it will be until they learn to spread out.
In the very least, swap them for a pair of hydras. Same anti-infantry capability while also being good against skimmers and better against monstrous creatures to boot.

Sure.
Although, to be fair to the russ in this case, while it will be taking all the lascannon fire, it means that said lascannon fire isn't shooting at your chimeras. The russ can take it much better than the chimeras can.

Agreed. I would go with the hydras. Gives you more AV 12 on the field too.
