Hi guys, 'scuse the c&p from CMON but im all typed out for the mo...

This was my last minute entry (spot the pattern? ) into the general catagory of the Wamped! painting competition on the Wamp forum.
http://www.wamp-forum.com/

It's no wonder that nobody had converted him before, as he is pretty much just a solid lump of metal, which made hacking off the neccessary bits quite a pain! Very glad that I followed it through though as I'm now rather chuffed with the results, even if as usual I didn't have enough time to finish up the paintwork as I intended...

This time it was gravity! Oh what a cruel mistress she is! Nigel was repeatedly subjected to the horrors of unaided flight, and we all know that Space Wolves would rather keep thier feet on the ground, just as Russ blah blah blah...

Dang. It would've been easier to pick up a new one and start again considering how many times he needed repairing! :p

Anyway, hope you like guys,

Cheers!

Andy

Looks bloody awesome! Only critiscism I have is that in some areas he looks as if he is coated in sticky blue gunge rather than lightning

The model is amazing, but the base is just incredible! The natural look of the snow and the ice on the front are fantastic details that really accentuate the miniature. Great Work!

Cheers guys!

Nigel won 2nd place in the general catagory, being narrowly beaten by a rather cool 1st place entry. Nevermind, that'll teach me for painting too many army bits, and breaking him along the way more times than i'd like to remember!

Oh, and for those that are still guessing, the lighning effect is made from roots and copper wire.

Lightning effect is absolutely tops. Roots and copper white - and a magic hand at painting. Great stuff.

But jeez, don't get depressed, get the smegging brushes out and practice dangit! lol
I've been painting again for less than 2 years and haven't even got going yet. Theres no reason anyone here can't top this with dedication (he's not finished yet either).

Well, unless you're colourblind and got a nervous twitch I suppose. That might be a bit tricksy...
