Hi all,

I have a game coming up this weekend vs. Chaos (PM's, Defiler, Oblits, 2x DP). This is my 1st game with my BA army (former nid player). If anyone can let me know what changes I need to make, it would be much appreciated... Cheers!

I'm trying to keep my army airborne/deep strike capable (won't deploy everything DS). My idea is having the DC/DCD in 1 SR, Libby/HG/Furioso in the other. Have the SR's run down either side of the board, and using my LS as fire support, with the rest of my crew deep striking. The DC is small, but I just want to see how they play (especially if I can get them tied up with a bigger squad while my DCD hammers in).

What I have available to swap in:

2x Drop Pods
6x Sternguard with 5x Combi-Melta
Dev Squad Marines (4xML, 2xLC, 3xPC, 3xMM, 1xHB)
Captain in term armour
2x Rhinos
3 scout bikers w/ 1x Grenade Launcher
8x Termies with LC's
3x Assault Marines (CS/BP)
1x DC

Shield for librarian would help your SR survive better (as well as your other skimmers if they are < 6" away). I'd drop the blood lance for that.

You could sub a 4x ML dev squad for the 5 man assault squad to soften up targets. All his infantry will laugh at a flamer.

2 scoring units might be an issue, depending on mission.

Forgot that I had a couple of more Assault Marines, so I re-tooled the smaller squad (edited in my OP).

Oh, And I just went out and bought a furioso (I hate that my lgs is a 5 minute drive!)

I was thinking about a dev squad, but I think it could be a little slow for the flavour of my army. On that note, I need to find a way to free up points for my priests' JP's. argh...

Sternguard are great for hunting Chaos Space Marines, Mephiston is also great for killing Daemon Princes and pretty much everything.

Looks good I was expecting another drop pod list like lets drop 2 dreads and watch them die but good on you looking good try getting a chaplain in with the dc makes em strongerps dont forget you have 8 str 8 ap 1 missiles you can fire (per stormraven) bye bye rhinos

Thanks for your input. I did have a chappy originally to go with my DC, but I pulled it in order to get the JP's on my Priests, and a couple of other goodies. I do plan on running a chappy in my next game or two though.

What are you talking about? Berzerkers are a terrible storm of 4 attacks a piece at WS5 S5...Just earlier, I only reached my IG friend with 4 of them, with a Sorcerer attached, and wiped out a squad of 20 guard on the first charge, and then the command squad next to it on my next turn. Don't underestimate Berzerkers...especially if someone reaches you with more than 5...
