So I was building on my 1000pt list and came up with this, it was an attempt to be competitive and fun emphasis on the competitive but now I fell I have it askew.

Lords:

Grey Seer: Dispel scroll
-Screaming Bell. 445pts

Heroes:

BSB: Shield. 72pts
Warplock Engineer: Lvl.1 Warp Condenser. 85pts
Warplock Engineer: Lvl.1 Doom Rocket. 95pts

Core:

60xStormvermin: Shields, musician, Banner (razor standard), WFT. 610pts
55xClanrats: shields, Banner, PWM, musician. 325.5pts
55xClanrats: shields, Banner, WFT, musician. 330pts
50xSlaves: musician. 102pts
50xSlaves: musician. 102pts

Rare:

Warp Lightning Cannon. 90pts
Warp Lightning Cannon. 90pts
Doom Wheel. 150pts

Total: 2496pts

So I've probably gotten a little carried away on this list but could this thing actually work or am I getting the ''horde madness''

Yea it is a bit silly. 60 storm vermin is insane, look cool but wont perform as expected of 600 points. List might have problems with killing power with only a bell, 2 cannons, and a doomwheel to take on heavy stuff. The strength of clans/storms is to get those weapon teams. clans especially becuase if they dont have teams/pushing a bell, mind as well get more slaves

In agreement with kenshin, you need more hitting power. While I like the idea of an absolutely hordey Skaven army, you'll need stuff that can pack a punch in close combat. Maybe trade a unit of Clanrats or Slaves for some Plague Monks or Giant Rats, or try to fit some fighty characters in.

Some Gutter Runners would be nice, to take on the war machines that will devour those big units.

I personally don't feel that Clanrats are worthless. WS3 and a 5+/6+ can go a long way. They actually stand a ghost of a chance against WS5+ models, for one. And they don't die in droves. Well. At least not as massive droves.

Strength aside, Clanrats (with shields) have three different instances where they are 16% more survivable than slaves, and are 16% more likely to kill many opponents.

Not always better. But not always worse.

I definitely recommend some more hitting power in your special choices-- dropping the big block of Stormvermin.
(sorry you have that many models, but in their current incarnation they're just not competitive enough)

RatOgres are a personal favorite, generally run in 3x2+ formation... Monks are good too, but lack the high strength attacks of the ogres.

...but throw out a huge volume of attacks for less points. They both have their place.

Which, taking a second look at the list, I'd rather trade the Stormvermin AND Screaming Bell for a Furnace+30-40 monks.

Secondly, drop 5-10 clanrats off each unit to add in a couple small gutter runner teams to hunt warmachines on the back field.

The big units might look nice but certain tactics can hit every model in a unit and with clanrats of slaves those will devastate you. e.g. Fulminating Flame Cage causes every model to take a strength 4 hit if it moves

Quantity might beat quality but not for me.

That's probably one of the least-used of the big threats anyway. Dwellers is something I'm coming to expect.

And while there are ways (not so much tactics, but I gotcha') to deal with those big blocks, there are other things that you want big blocks around to absorb, like a lot of war machines and direct damage spells.

I usually go with 4 50-ish blocks, and find that to be enough. I'd drop the one Clanrat block, and drag the Stormvermin down to a "more reasonable" size, like 50. The 13 result would be, simply put, devastating. Just be sure to Bless them with Filth first...

With the points saved, you could get some Gutter Runners and/or Rat Ogres, to protect/supplement those blocks.

Also, I'd drop one of the Warlocks. At least one of the wizard levels. Maybe bump up the other to a level 2, for some back-up casting/dispelling.

Hm indeed.

- first, get that BSB protected. He'd be my first target, guaranteed. A 5+ Ward, at least. Honestly, I'd go Talisman of Preservation, Charmed Shield, and a halberd.

- those slave units are nice, but I think a Pawleader in each would benefit you greatly. Just drop 'em down to 48 models.

- finally, I'd break the Runners into two units. Each unit will panic easier, but with something that fragile, you'll want to spread out your points as much as you can; if your opponent has a mind, he can panic 10 as easily as 5. Killing 3 T3 guys with a 6+ ward is just as easy as killing 2.
