Nowhere near enough to justify intervention, but if this turns into a trend involving the targeting of foreign nationals, then there may be some more political impetus for a no-fly zone.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.
Whilst I don't like what happened, they brought it upon themselves by ignoring Government restrictions. When you're restricted by a country whose leader will happily bomb his own citizens, it might be wise to listen.
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

They're in the middle of a collapsing state, trying to keep the story in the world's eye.
Of course they're going to break restrictions? You don't think they knew it was dangerous? No possibility that they were brave instead of stupid?
Is is possible you have, in fact, blamed the victim?

To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

They took a risk and got punished for it, I don't see how they can be cleared of all blame because they were beaten; that's how High School bullying works, the bully will torment you without actually physically touching you until you lash out, he runs off screaming bloody murder and you get the gakky end of the stick for hitting him.
They shouldn't have been beaten, but they shouldn't have gone in there if they didn't want to be beaten; I hate to say it, but most of the blame lies with the reporters here.
Fun fact: If there's a good chance that by ignoring restrictions set by a crazed loony clinging onto power, you will get hurt, don't do it. Stay in school.

No, because the reporters weren't bullies trying to provoke Gaddafi. I don't know why, but you've chosen to ignore that by being there, reporting on this the reporters are documenting the situation, this keeps it in the world's eye, and therefore encourages international involvement and decrease Gaddafi's freedom to commit human rights violations.
If we ignore all that then yes, the reporters could possibly look like bullies provoking Gaddafi's regime. But ignoring it is absurd, so please stop.
Recognising that something is dangerous but worth doing anyway is actually what courage is about. It's an admirable thing.

They were given mock executions. So there's at least one thing.

Isn't there something about harming a foreign nation's citizens being a cause for invasion? I could swear that there was some doctrine that allowed a country to attack another if the citizens of the foreign country were harmed by government sponsored individuals.

i dont know if that was a formal doctrine but it was a reason to go to war. as good a reason as any
all i know is that beginning with the Hague conventions and the various other agreements make an outright invasion without mediation, negotiation etc. illegal
best thing that can happen here is a trial, the ones responsible going to jail or worse and Libya issuing an apology
right...

They beat the gak out of the poor Palestinian guy!
The Englishman displayed a stiff upper lip throughout however, so hats off to him. Acting emotional in these situations is simply not acceptable old bean!
We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Not any more.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

No, because the reporters weren't bullies trying to provoke Gaddafi.
You're saying that ignoring restrictions isn't going to provoke someone who will kill people for protesting against him? Look at what the guy has done already, sneezing out of line would probably provoke the guy.
I don't know why, but you've chosen to ignore that by being there, reporting on this the reporters are documenting the situation, this keeps it in the world's eye, and therefore encourages international involvement and decrease Gaddafi's freedom to commit human rights violations.
I have not chosen to ignore anything, you're choosing to try and deflect the argument away from how the reporters chose to ignore rules set down by a nutjob and how everyone is acting as if they're innocent victims.
If we ignore all that then yes, the reporters could possibly look like bullies provoking Gaddafi's regime. But ignoring it is absurd, so please stop.
I am not ignoring anything. They went into the territory of a mad-man in order to bring unnecessary news to people (seriously, we already know that Gadaffi is a lunatic murderer, it's unlikely that showing another few dead bodies will sway anyone who wasn't brought around to this way of thinking previously).
Also, I cannot stop ignoring something i'm not, so either address the point i'm making and stop trying to deflect the discussion or- actually, just do that.
Recognising that something is dangerous but worth doing anyway is actually what courage is about. It's an admirable thing.
But it isn't worth doing. "Gadaffi has killed yet more people." "Oh really? Who'd have thought it?". It was a risky move to bring an extra few dead bodies to people who already think Gadaffi needs to go. Courage is one thing, utter stupidity is quite another.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
