I've just discovered info on these rulesets, and I've heard that a printed book is coming out soon. Is there a date on this yet? I'd really like to get into this system (correct me if they're different).

I'm interested in running US Army against Taliban(or whatever the faction is) I'm guessing 20mm skirmish size forces? Any info and links to minis (US providers please) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Well as Im the Studio Manager and developer for Ambush Alley Games, I best not say too much... Except to say my supplement for Vietnam, Ambush Valley, is out in October!

I have already got a copy of the new book, and the first supplement, Road to Baghdad, and they are stunning books, full of Osprey artwork, real life pictures, and of course, my figures! Release date for the book is 11th April, so just a month to go for the main rulebook and the Iraq 2003 supplement! After that the Afghanistan supplement is out followed by our Sci-Fi rules, Tomorrows War, in September, then my Vietnam book in October and finally our Cold War goes Hot book in December.

I use 20mm exclusively for the rules, though you can use any scale with the rules. If you wish to do US and Taliban then your first port of call should be Elhiem Figures...

http://www.elhiemfigures.com/

(stocked in the US by Syr Hobbs Figures, though you can order direct).

Matt at Elhiem has a fantastic range of USMC and US Army for A'stan and they appear in the books (we have just finished proofing the A'stan supplement due out in August I think) and his Taliban are the best out there. He also has lots more on the way.

These are my ones that are in the books...

I would also suggest joining the Ambush Alley Games forum...

http://www.ambushalleygames.com/forum/index.php

...or just have a poke around on it for ideas.

My own forum...

www.guildwargamers.com

...is centred heavily on 20mm figures and models for WW2 and Moderns. We have massive galleries showing loads of figures and have just about every 20mm manufacturer onboard. You will see all the latest releases from Elhiem, S&S Models, Grubby Tanks, Britannia and various others on the forum.

Other than that, I will just say its a great game. I joined the company after playing the game and wanting to see it develop further. This latest edition, published by Osprey has ironed out a few things and we have utterly re-written the vehicle rules.

Hope you pick it up and enjoy, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks for the info Big P, those minis are really nice! What company do you use for vehicles? I'm about to join the forums as well.

Thanks I'll be placing an order whenever finances allow.

You will LOVE the 'Road to Baghdad' book... Its a cracker. I have a printed copy of it already to proof, and its fantastic. Some brilliant scenarios.

That one had a number of contributors with several ex-vets and Osprey author Leigh Neville working on it.

Leigh has just finished the A'stan book which is a superb piece of work.

Im just finishing up the Vietnam book, with my co-author Joe Trevithick, and its liable to be the first time anywhere in print, that full TOEs are presented for every major, and some not so major, unit that fought in Vietnam. My book is coming in as the biggest so far with nearly 200 pages!

After that its finishing touches to the Cold War book... and thats my favourite so far.

As for vehicles...

Well there are loads of plastic kits on the market, look for Dragon and Hobbymaster who both also do pre-paints.

In resin have a look at S&S Models, they do a massive range for 20mm... Though email them for a catalogue as the website dont show much.

Britannia Miniatures do some nice vehicles, but are unavailable at present due to the recent death of the owner.

There are also a number of diecast models available from Altalya. These can be got on Ebay or from various webshops like www.thehobbyden.com

Hope thats of use!

Thanks again! Any idea for the release on the book? I'd much rather have a hard copy than a pdf.
