Hello, guys, was registered for a while, so I thought I could do my introductory post.
I started getting into Warhammer 40k (mostly) from the Dawn of War PC game, actually, and at that time I didn't know about the miniatures so I'm now planning to buy my first army, and was wondering maybe someone could help me choosing my army.
I am mostly interested in Chaos Space Marines, but I was also into Dark Eldar, (I have Codexes of both) so I thought some opinions about the two might help me choose
Thanks

Drackulis

Hey
Welcome to Dakka!
They are both awesome, DE are more competitive atm, but if you're just starting out then chaos are easier to get to grips with.

Welcome to Dakka!

And if I may, I might suggest Eldar - and E-bay

Great way to get an army together when unsure, as you can buy more!

Chowderhead - God no. If I said Pirates Honor, I would have had to kill him whether he won or lost.

Csm are a little more forgiving to beginners. I play both and I prefer DE. The changes in the last chaos codex sucked imo. The DE do require some finesse. Don't expect to go toe to toe with sm armys without using their cunning and speed to corral your opponent into a unfavorable position. A good way to test out armies is to proxy them with models/plastic army men aginst a friend at your house play a small game with each see which one "feels" better. Little forum research on how other people play those armies couldn't hurt.
Welcome to dakka, I hope you fall into the mad depravity that is the 40k obsession!

Wot! Grot damn it!
