We will be holding an Adepticon Gladiator Primer Tournament on Sunday March 20th at 9 am. Adepticon is the Spring event to go to for 40k, and we have secured a preliminary Gladiator Primer tournament here at FTW Games. http://www.ftwgames.net/2011/02/40k-event-adepticon-gladiator-primer.html

Grab your power fist, summon the Greater Daemons, and bring in the Titans – the 40K Gladiator returns! The first rule of the AdeptiCon 40K Gladiator is “No Whining!” Life is not fair, and neither is the AdeptiCon 40K Gladiator.

Gladiator tournaments are all about power - crushing all who oppose you and using all those nasty army combinations you have been dying (but were too ashamed) to try. The weak and the timid need not apply. Everyone else will find their tactical acumen tested by three unique scenarios

For the Primer event at FTW Games there are no sports, comp, or painting score! BUT there is a prize for best painted, so try if you can! (We’ll do the Gladiator model scoring for those that want an idea of what they would score at the real event.)

All you have to do to take home overall is WIN WIN WIN! So bring down your unpainted figs, and get stuck in!

WYSIWYG: Units must be WYSIWYG. Any model that fails to meet this requirement will be instantly removed from play (at your opponent’s discretion). Conversions and ‘counts as’ are allowed within reason (judges’ discretion).

Painted: Armies do not need to be painted to compete and win overall, but there is a prize for painting!

8. Bracketing
Opponents will be randomly determined for the first round. Swiss pairing (using just the gaming score) will occur in the second and final round.

9.Prizes
All entrance fee money will be "the pot", even from those that drop out. This money will be divided among the top winners as follows:

Overall Champion: 40% This is the player with the most overall points, includes the battle points for all three rounds, the painting scores of both team members, and the players choice score.

Best Painted: 35% During the lunch break, judges will inspect and score the painting on all the armies. To keep things objectively based, a checklist will be used to evaluate each army.

Best General: 25% This is for the player with the most battle points.

If a player wins multiple awards they will only receive the award with the highest prize and the award for any other category they have won will go to the runner up in that category.
