Basically do they require the full 5 models to take any specials?

Does the unit entry state...

A unit consisting of X may take/exchange...
Any paladin may take/exchange...
Upto X paladins may take/exchange...

Do you have the codex and are looking for an answer due to unclear wording? Or just looking for an answer?

That is based on the final copy, not the leaked copy correct?

I don't have the exact wording. Haven't even gotten the chance to get to the FLGS to check it out since I've been busy this week so I figured I'd see if someone remembered the wording

Final copy says 2 specials per 5 Paladins.

Although you can make a Singleton Paladin an Apothecary

I am almost positive when I looked at the dex last weekend-----it was the same (You may take 2 for every 5)

That's right---you can almost make a cheaper Lone Wolf (sans the Storm Shield)

Well shucks, good to know. I had been considering doing the solo Pally w/Psycannon. I'd hoped they changed the wording in the final copy. Oh well

If by "cheaper" you mean "more than 6 times as expensive with no eternal warrior and can't take a storm shield or chainfist" then yes! So close!

Eh, 150 pts that dies to a single las cannon shot? Yikes.

I forgot that the Apoth stacks with cost---so nm it wouldn't be a cheaper Lone Wolf.
