I wanted to get a feel for how grunts/jacks interact and I threw Orin in there for magic, and his lightning seemed pretty cool.

I am not trying to be TFG, so if I have made a mistake with my calculations or something doesn't look right - please let me know.

Oh, another question about MacBain came up today.

His ability: Countermeasure

Does it nullify ranged attacks if he's within 5" of an enemy,

Or

Does it create a 5" bubble that allows his group to proceed across the board?

Wording for the rule is a little funny, so just making sure.

It creates a 5" radius 'bubble' around each effected model, either a solo/warjack/warcaster or a unit.

This spell is all kinds of fun when cast upon Risen.

It looks like your numbers are off.

Alexia and Risen are 5 points.

A unit of Devil Dogs is 5/7 points.

A Buccaneer is 3 points.

You either have to drop Orin or go with a minimum unit of Devil Dogs.

What you have isn't a list that will likely win you any tournaments, but that's not the point, right? If you're using it as a tool to learn the basics, it covers a lot of bases and should do the job just fine.

Tier 1 MacBaine reduces the cost of character units by 1.

Yeah. I figured with the full unit of DD's and Alexia, I could learn pretty quick how her abilities work.

And yes, Tier one is the minus one to character units.

Not sure about Orin overall. He has a 12' null zone for casters, which I think could be interesting, pending on terrain and placement.

Just remember to activate Orin after your spellcaster.

That null zone affects you, too.
