So I wanted to have a seer join a guardian jetbike squad. However, I dont like the idea of a psyker driving a vehicle manually, so I wanted to make him stand, initally I thought on a jetbike, even though that seems like something Maverik from Top Gun would do.

So instead, I figured I can just use a Dark Eldar Hellion Skyboard:

With the spear weilding awesome looking Farseer here:

My question is, will people have a problem with it? I mean, given that the bike is supposed to give you armor saves and all...and it's slightly smaller.

I could also use a grav platform I guess, but I like the Skyboard model more. I think it would make for a really dynamic looking model.

Come to think of it, how about if I did an entire seer council like this? I think it would look majestic, but I can imagine people getting confused.

i wouldn't have a problem with it, as long as there was a degree of effort to disguise the 'dark eldarness' of the skyboards

My rule of thumb is if it looks awesome, it's fine.

If it makes sense, it's fine.

If there's no ambiguity to what it's representing, it's fine.

Awesome trumps all though. Gotta make it look good!

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

You could have him with a big pair of fiary wings and I doubt it would bother anyone but the WYSIWYG nazis. Seems a nice idea, it'd just require you to make the hellion a bit less Dark Eldar looking-ie giving it more rounded edges so as its got the charecteristics of being made out of wriathbone. I'd use a Warlock who was kneeling on one knee though, like the jetboard surfers from Judge Dredd, or one that looks like their surfacing a bit more...but that's just my own preferences...and immaturity. ^^

The Rule of Cool applies here. I would have absolutely zero problem with it.

Moving flat out..

I think that's a very, very cool idea. I have some heavy weapons platforms as seer council jetbikes now.. but Sky Boards seem like a great alternative!

You could try the new bestmaster skyboard, with skulls removed. A lot more rounded, slightly smaller but is metal so a little harder to work with.

My friend does this with his whole bike seer council, but with different models for the hover board. I think he uses pieces of the falcon turrets.

Like somebody else said, only thing I would say is you should try and make it look a bit less dark eldarish if possible.

The only issue with the idea is that a skyboard riding Farseer is significantly smaller than a jetbike, almost to the point of modeling for advantage.

I'd go for it, but I wouldn't take him to a tournament.
