Well Title says most of it.. =)

I'm New to Dakka so please be kind.
I'm assembling a Red Scorpion Army. I decided I needed a muse to keep me going since I tend to do small projects and leave them at that. Well.. and give me a chance to test out colors before I get knee deep in painting.
New Assualt Marine with Old Pewter Jump Pack. I also did some green stuff. I'm just starting to branch out from gap filling or flat surfaces. Tabbard and rope in front and both cloths on the jump pack.
Neither set of arms is complete yet. Arms are Magnetic Pictures show just some of the options. Mainly aiming for a table top quality. Am I close enough? Any thoughts on the grey and yellow? I think I like it and it pretty closely matches the Imperial Armour Books.

Anyways critique and comments more than welcome!

Hi, welcome to Dakka!

Looks great an crisp----those swords look great from what I can see.

Some friendly critique;

I would consider a Devlan Miracle wash on your bleached/bone areas for some depth---then a 50/50 highlight of skull/bleached to the corners. Should give them a bit of depth----this also works well with purity seals/ropes/etc.

A dark grey highlight might help your black pop a bit too------but black is a shockingly tough color to do well (At least for me).

Love the bases, as it helps them pop----and pretty tight painting there. Should be a sweet army done up.

hehe the funny thing is he's a dark charcoal grey. He's got lighter london grey highlights but they're kinda washed out from lack of lighting/angle/ photo fu
I'm going to have to actually build a light box and take photos at some point. =/

Gene Stealer Head. I filed down the lower jaw portion. Cut 4 "claws" per arm to be same shape and glued into place. Green stuff'd the base of the claws to give a kind of welded organic to steel look. Cut off hands from a SM and pinned and glued them to the back of the heads.
