I know that this seems odd that I am doing a transaction report on myself but there seems to be an issue with a package I sent to SBU that has not arrived. I want to put it all out for the public to see that everything is being done by both parties to resolve this issue. First of all I want to say that SBU has been the perfect customer with fast payment and quick communication. So, without further adu here is the facts of the case to this point.

On 03/05/2011, I placed an Armorcast Gobsmasha on Dakka Swap to sell. SBU offered $50.00 USD for the vehicle plus shipping. He stated that he had internation shipping from the US for around $14.00 USD lately. I calculated the shipping and he was very close at $14.20 USD. I quoated $64.20 USD and he agreed. The deal was done.

He messaged me that he was having trouble sending the funds via paypal because of conversion from Pounds to Dollars and requested an Invoice. I agrees and sent him an invoice for $64.20 USD which he quickly paid. Since it was too late to ship the package in person with USPS Clerk I attemept to ship at the automated USPS Office near my house in the morning of 03/06/2011. However, I could not ship the item because of USPS Customs regualtions I had to ship with a live person. I informed SBU of this when I got home via PM on Dakka.

On 03/06/2011, I posted an Armorcast Spleenrippa on Dakka Swap to sell. SBU saw this and offered to buy them. I agreed and combined this shipping which I ate as a cost of doing business. Because of the previous conversion issue I sent him an invoice which he quickly paid via Paypal. Once receiving the payment for the second item the two vehicles were packaged together for shipping.

On 03/07/2011, on my first break at work I went downstairs to the USPS Office in the US Govt Federal Building I work in at Kansas City, MO. I normally ship priority mail and do not have much experence with First Class International Mail I asked for a tracking number. The clerk stated that she could not give me one since they do not do it on First Class International (which I confirmed later on the USPS website.) While not too please with this but I still shipped the item to the Address that was Confirmed on Paypal as promised. Once shipped I returned to my desk and sent a message to SBU that they have shipped.

On 03/08/2011, SBU stated in his reply that he would contact me when they arrive.

On 03/26/2011, I was going through my business receipts and notice the receipt for the vehicles I sent to SBU. I remembered that I have not heard from him yet about if the package has arrived. I sent him a PM on Dakka inquiring about the items I had shipped. He stated that he had not received them yet and was about to contact me about them. Since it is the weekend and both the USPS and Royal Post are not open there was not much I could do at this time.

The thought came to me to check the USPS site and see if the Customs Form Number that was on the receipt would provide any information. Here is the response from the USPS tracking system:

The USPS shows that they have accepted the Package that was sent to SBU but that is as far as I am able to check since the Royal Post site is horrible and did not give any information when the customs number was entered.

Here is my evidence that I shipped the item:




What I am thinking that has happened is that the package is being held up by Customs in the UK. According to the USPS site the first step in locating the package is for me to do an international trace with the USPS which I will start tomorrow with the USPS office that I shipped the item out from. This process even from their own website can take awhile.

Since, I have have met all the prerequired evidence needed by Paypal for Seller Protection I do whole heartly request that on the 40th day of the transaction if the items have not been received, please to a Paypal Dispute so you can protect yourself. Since I have done everything that the seller protection in the Paypal User Agreement has stated I am protected and will not lose any money for the missing items. Also, since I did this and if you file before the close of the 45 day window you should receive a refund from Paypal.

The communications between SBU and I have been friendly and informative on this issue. He stated last night that he his going to go to the Royal Post Office and contact Customs with the Customs Office there in the UK to see if this will help. I hope this transaction report will show that not only SBU and I are both doing everything we can to resolve this issue but also show that both sides are trustworthy Dakka members in Dakka Swap. I will gladly do business with SBU at anytime.

P.S. I am requesting any information if there has been a slowdown of items being shipped from the US to the UK. Or is the UK Customs having any issues which could explain the delay in processing toy models?

Just a heads up, and not sure if this can be applied to your case. Homeland security decided that they need to search every package that is under a certain weight. I ordered FW stuff a couple months ago took it about 39 days to get here.

I was not aware of this that DHS is doing this. I guess it was because of the bombs that were being sent in printer cartriages. Thanks for the info, it will be very helpful.

As with all transaction reports, please only post here if you have relevant information to add regarding the sale/trade in question, or information that is helpful to resolving the issue.

It is certainly fine to have gone ahead and posted this transaction report to have all of the information out in the open and above board, and to see about means of tracking down the package.

Pip: Often, what you put on the customs form item description can make a difference. I usually put (used toys) or (used models) in my declaration. It raises fewer questions with the customs officials. Another point, and I don't know if it applies in your case, but it is important to list whether or not you have magnetized parts in the models. Undeclared magnets in any quantity can really throw off the scanning equipment, and raise very time-consuming questions.

My experience with the USPS tracking system for First-Class Mail International parcels is that it will only tell you that the package was accepted at the post office. Even after delivery, the tracking message won't change.

I've had a package from the southern US take around 2 months to reach me here in Ontario, Canada.
I understand your concern, but it is possible that the package is traveling on the surface rather than by air so give it a few more weeks.

When and if the buyer opens a PayPal dispute within the 45 day window, I believe that there will be another 20 day window for you two to reach an agreement on how to settle the dispute. (At least that's how it is for eBay.)

I have also just edited the transaction report title, as another user has PM'ed me saying that SBU has offered these same items for trade.

SBU if you could reply here to clear up any discrepancies from your side, that would be very helpful.

I want to thank everyone for their help with this issue. I am completely surprised by the unsolicited information about the items that has been provided. I am going to still contact the USPS to start the trace and also contact the Royal Post myself to follow up myself.

I also await your reply because I have received PM from another person stating you already have have the items I sent you and you were trying to sell these items. This is on top of the message post above. This is serious evidence presented by people I have never had any contact with. So, the question is what is there to stop me from contacting the USPS Inspector General and the Royal Post equilvent.

Well thanks to Pipboy101 I now know that SBU/gamesroomclearout2010 is a recaster. I recently bought 4 grot tanks from him and am now attempting to get my money back. I suggest anyone who has done business with this guy try the same.

Has anyone contacted GW about this? Because at this me and my brother (whalemusic360) have gotten 4 grot tanks and 3 deathwind missile launchers from this guy (first time was gamesroomclearout2010)

I have an ongoing dispute over a trade, sne tout a CSM army and he was ment to send me some grot tanks and a grot mega tank, never got them he says he never got the csm. I found that the package he sent me was returned to him and he has recived the CSM i sent. ripped me off.

I am going to do a trace on the package amd contact the ppost master general here in the states. Also i am going to contact thr royal post. I have already contacted paypal by phone. They are now aware of what is going on which is now linked to his email. On top of this i have warned him that there might be civil and criminal proceeding filled here in the US and Uk if i suffer any monetary loss.

So if you have dealings with him and you used paypal call them. They noted his email and have the full story including some other other stuff that has happened so far reported on here.

Well, I have started the international trace with the USPS. Then I got in contact with the North Wales Police in his town. They stated that when I get the information that the USPS provides me and they will amend the open criminal complaints on him if it is shown that the package has arrived at his address provided. Also, the Royal Post stated that they will look into mail fraud charges if he did receive the items.

FWIW, I checked something for you.
Some foreign sites will allow you to track a package sent there by using the # on the Customs form. Royal Mail is not one of them.

I will forward this to all interested parties. You have to understand how it looks when you are saying the same thing word for word that my investigation had found. As a 12 year veteran of law enforcement whom has investigated many a fraud case in my time, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, it is a duck. All my actions on here are to protect myself and the other members of dakka as the situation that has occurred is a very common scam to defraud according to the USPS Postal Inspector. So understand my view point as a person that has investigated these types of crimes before at my level of uneasiness with out physical proof as of right now the evidence is not in your favor.

If you have the name of the customs offical you talked to and which office I will confirm my selfAlso a photograph of the unopened package and the contents will go along way in repairing you rep and proving your side true. if true I will share it all with dakka. Also if true you need to do something to have the internet posts against you removed since it is never good that the entire first page of google about you is saying you are a scamer stating you are doing the same thing as is happening now. The ball is in your court to push the scales of evidence in your side because just stating that customs has it right now is like saying the check is in the mail. I will hold of on more investigation it you respond with proof. I will repay this message on dakka word for word so there is no he said she said for your protection and mine.

As I stated in my reply that it seems old that everything that his "Brother" did is happening again. As with internet issues, if I was running a business I would have been on with the company the second it went down. After that I would have used the internet on my phone and then an Internet Cafe or even a Library to keep in touch. Also, I have not seen online Sbu's attempt to fix the problem. Honestly if the entire first page of a Google Search of my name came up with that I would be posting my "Brother's" mug shot with an apology.

So, I will await the Custom's Offical's name and the Office he talked to or a picture of the unopen package that he gets from that "Office." We will wait and see what the day brings.

As for what i have done about the writings on the net ( for wich there are to my knowledge just 2 sites and 3 threads) refering to my brothers actions 6 months ago ( as i said i kicked him out and have not spoken to him since nor has the rest of my family for that matter)

i have written on several ocations to both editors of the 2 sites in question to both explain the cercumstances and indeed ask for there help but on all occassions i was ignored and one one site in particular refused to even let me join as a visitor in order to publicly put my comments and facts forward and indeed at that time i was going to publicly appolagise for my brothers actions and that i had only just found out ( sept 2010 FYI) what had been going on bvoth under my roof and in some cercomstances in my name ( he obviously had access to all my personal info and of course as he was living with us at the time all the address info needed to carry on this way i even at this point supplied certain info to the police wich was a hard thing to do even after what he had done happily the police did not take the matter any furtehr as there was no real evidence supplied just ALOT of idol speculation and very hurtful and somewhat trumped up alegations wich included against me and resulted in me loosing my ebau account that had well over 800+ posative feedback at the time I even tok legal advise at the time but was told that there was very little i could do without spending lots of money (wich i do not have) and would not be able to claim back and still with no garantees it would help the situation as they are private members only forums there is not much that can be done dispite the few entries on goggle ( NOT REALY A FULL PAGE IS IT)

in answer to your question firstly no did not get a name from the royal mail/customs call centre just gave them the details that you only supplied on saturday (so monday was the first time i could ack on them) they put it into the computer and told me it was being held at my local customs holding centre ( wich luckily is only 15 miles away and that there was a customs and handeling charge that i would have to pay (not happy about that but under the cercumstances did not feel it would be the right time to discuss that matter with you )

they also appolagised and said that i should have had a letter some weeks ago but that they had been experiencing problems and a number of items had had the same situation occur in the last few weeks and that the problem was now sorted from there end ( some concerlation to me A look at all the trouble it has brought back up again)

again i feel that you were somwhat hasty not waiting for my responce i had mentioned my internet problems and FYI i had been every day to an internet cafe ( AND YES THERE WOULD BE PROOF OF THIS IF IT WAS NEEDED AS I WILL BE ON THER CCTV and you could contact sky who would under presure confirm that i have had problems with my internet and that since a week last thursday i have been ofline at home ) and secondly i do not run a bussiness so why and how would my lack of internet affect that trust me sky would not move any quicker if i did they are slow and thats that.

If there is an issue with the shipping because of Customs you might want to contact everyone that you have done deals with because there is a few people on here that were thinking the samething as I was before I posted my TR. I will again post your PM and this response in the TR.

Now, the best thing to do was to drop a few line message to my email which you had via Paypal the first time you got that info about customs. But when you chimed in on a TR on another person in Dakka claiming that your package had not arrived and then other people are stating that you are telling them that it has not arrived it throws up a huge red flag espically with the information that is out there. So you have to look at what everyone can see so communication is huge for you. Internet issues is the #1 excuse for a scammer on here and with the other issues that are word for word it makes from very nervous customers.

If selling or buying on a regular basis you MUST have a backup for internet issues so you are only out of communications for a few hours when not at work. So, my reaction and everyone elses is perfectly understandible and defendible. Since this is only a transaction report and there is no offical actions against you except for a Internation Trace on the package, if you make it right with everyone on here by communitcating with them it would go along way for you. If everything goes as you say it will I will post a +1 for you and close my section of the TR.

Now if it is true that your Brother was doing those things and you did report it to the local police there will be a report number. If I was you get a copy of that report and send it to the companies and forums with a professionaly worded letter registered mail asking nicly to remove those posts so this will not happen to you again. It is up to them to believe you but with offical documents they will take you serious about the issue. By not doing that you are always going to be haunted by his actions.

I've got a stock response here whenever someone claims their brother did it (That is NOT an unheard of excuse.). Something like:
"Fine. It was your brother? No problem. Just give me your paren't phone number, so I can confirm this with them, and you & I will be fine. I'll take matters up with him."

I have had an ongoing trade with SBU for a SM codex in return for my DE codex, He claims he shipped it around mid March and I shipped the DE codex a few days after, I have not received anything and have not heard from him, and I'm starting to become a bit concerned.

Like Pipboy101, everyone else post the messages you got and any other communications so that we can see if they match a similar pattern with the other pending deals with SBU.

Or perhaps start PMs between yourselves to compare notes. One of you start collecting information just in case.

Here is a short breakdown, and I just want to make it clear that while concerned I am not accusing SBU of cheating me in any way, its just the amount of time that has gone by paired with the emergence of this thread has caused me some serious concern.

on 2/23 SBU responded to one of my swap shop threads and offered to trade his Space Marine codex for my Dark Eldar codex, he stated that he would be interested in the trade but that we would have to ship between countries, even though he was a new user with a low post count I went ahead with the deal anyway.

The next few PM's after that were just about shipping costs and the like.

After a few delays SBU claims he shipped the SM codex on 3/7

On 3/11 New Jersey was hit by a huge storm and my area was flooded, because of this I wasnt able to ship the DE codex until 3/16, I sent SBU a message explaining this.

It is the 29th today and I have still not received anything or heard from SBU, I am aware that cross country shipping can take awhile and I am hoping that is the reason for this delay.

I believe I still might have the receipt. And will be looking for it today.

as for what you have said about the police all i did was give them certain info that they asked for (unhappily as he was still my brother and i am not a police informant)

there was no record of my details given as i was unwilling to get involed any further as i wanted to distance myself from any further action although as far as i am aware none was taken and as i said have not spoken to my brother since then the case file number is the one that has been banded around TMP but that is as much as i know and infact more than 50% of my info has come from what i have read over the last 6/9 months

i do not see what else i can do i have spoken to the editors of the 2 sites and asked them to remove and or reword certain messages but have not had any polite reply and so i feel on that note that i was dealing with very unpolite, unprofessional and frankly crappy inderviduals and so have just left it for the last couple of months and until yesterday it had seemed to have gone away

I do not want you to think that I am beating up on you about not having an alternate Internet connection, but you have to look at it from myside and quite frankly most of the other people on here. It is normally a bad sign when communication comes to a crawl or a stand still. I understand that family members not wanting to turn other members in for possible criminal actions they might have commited but when it comes down to it and if they use your name and address to commit a crime and you don't do something legally it becomes your cross to bare then.

So, I will await till Saterday Morning to hear from you when you pick up that package. If anything changes inform me as soon as you can.

Interesting that his brother was the recaster, of which I had been sold some of, and now he has sent out recasts of an equally poor quality, of which my brother has been sold (Sum1). But it totally wasn't him that was doing that before.
