Vindicare Assassin

Rifledread

Comes out to exactly 1000

I'd drop an Arco Flaggelant or two for some more Crusaders or D/C assassins, but lack the models.
Should I drop the Acolytes for more Arcos? (I have 6 arco models.)

I have yet to see a list with a Daemonblade or anyone even talking about it, but I like it.
Thoughts... on blade or in general?

Thing about the blade is, inquisitors are not combat characters. Sure the blade would be sweet on SM captains or librarians. Take a Xenos inquisitor and use him as a grenade bitch for a strike squad.

I'd possibly be tempted to drop the Assassin in 1000pts and take another Psyfledread (I assume your's has psybolt ammo?)

The torrent of S8 fire can be devastating in 1000pts, although the assassin can be great for picking off your opponents important stuff. (The lascannon in his combat squad, the powerfist on his tac sergeant, or even decimating his important transports.)

Guess it's individual playstyle and tastes.

One thing I'd suggest save yourself some points and downgrade the Psybacks to Bolterbacks w/psy ammo. For 35pts less you lose 1S and 1 shot. IMO worth it at this pts level.

Hive Fleet Medusa. Working up to 2000pts.

Yeah, the rifledread has the ammo.
I like the blade because it has the potential to make the Inquisitor an amazing CC character, among other strange things. I really just think it's goofy enough to use. (I agree... wish it was available on a Grey Knight)

I've been going back and forth between the Razorback with Psy-Heavy Bolter and the Assault Cannon psyback.
My main issue is that the Assault Cannon has rending, allowing me to use it to push over even AV14.

But it's definately something I'm considering.

Well the inquisitor will never be an amazing CC character, not one of the results will give you that. I love the idea though, and random effects are always fun so it's up to you, your army.

I just think the Bolter-backs are really good for 50pts. I'd downgrade them and keep the vindicare. If your opponent brings a raider or something in 1000pts then punish him with 4d6 AP1!

I always take the Blade unless I have him sitting with a distance shooting squad. Where he might as well take his musket.

But he can't take the two handed blade and two handed incinerator...

He is an excellent CC character for his point cost.

Which result are you saying would make him an excellant CC character? Sorry but he is an excellant CC character for his points cost when you buy him some grenades...

Either of the power weapon upgrades combined with eternal warrior is about the best. Like I said...for being 48 points...beast.

I completely missed that you get 2 buffs. Haha, my arguments never going to be strong when I dont know the rules!

hmm S3, 3 attacks isnt going to scare anyone.

On a side note if you roll upgrade psyker, what powers does he have?

Just the force weapon ability....it's mediocre.

Vampyre is also pretty impressive IMHO

Edit: You get the Force Weapon ability and it becomes a Force Weapon (aka, a sexy power weapon), so can't complain too much.

Ah, then no, daemonblade is still a big no from me.

Ordo Malleus (PA, DB) 48pts
Ordo Xenos (PA, Rads, Pychos) 63pts

One will possibly become average at best in CC (Initiative 3 anyone), while the other buffs a CC squad enormously, especially some of the psycho results! (2 Makes Me LOL)

To me the choice is very clear.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And for the record, I think vampyre is one of the more gak buffs, sorry lucas! Recovering wounds on something that is very very fragile, and strikes after most stuff anyway...

It really depends on the unit composition.

Yeah agreed. What unit would you take the Daemonblade over Nade Bitch though?

A very good point, but Inquisitors are I4.
You're still probably right, just wanted to point that out.

Edit: IMO, Inquisitors need to learn to share their toys. :/

Edit 2: Also, Vampyre doesn't recover wounds, it gains them to a max of ten. Still agree he's a push-over at T3, but I think it's good for laughs.

Sorry lucas my bad, thought they were I3. Anyway, the point still stands tbh!

Haha and yes, inquisitors that share, that'd be a sight!

I must have missed where it said two handed. I was hoping to get two demonblades for my inquistor and roll 4 times on the table. Paired with a large squad of deathcult assains, crusaders, arcos, banishers would be a nasty charge out of a stormraven or land raider.

Why not?

"Dire Avengers are even great in close combat, I mean, an Exarch with a Diresword can even take down a Carnifex!!"

There is absolutely no rule (that I know of, someone prove me wrong) saying a model can't carry 2 2 handed weapons. He cannot get +1A in CC, but can nonetheless wield both.

AFAIK, that's correct. If your codex gives you the option of buying a certain combination of weapons, there is nothing stopping you from doing so.

Yes, that's right. An example is the Eldar Autarch who can carry a staggering amount of wargear and ride a jetbike all at the same time (and since he retains his pistol, he can still get his two attacks). While I forget what of his gear is two-handed, I know it has no bearing on what you can buy.
