Another 7 Uruk Hai done!



I thought I was getting to the end of these, but there's still 20 or so Uruk Scouts, plus Ferals and various characters (Lurtz, Ugluk etc)!

Next up is a Chaplain Xavier to extend my Salamanders as I try to get them ready for action in 8th/

Uruks never end, do they? Good thing is you're churning out some great looking finished models.

I have been working out how to adjust my Salamanders to be 8th-edition ready. The main thing I needed was more HQ choices, so I dug out Chaplain Xavier, who I bought when he came up on GW's "Made to Order".



I've also now got Sevrin Loth lined up to be my Librarian

85 models done in 2017 now...

Next up to be painted are 2 more mounted Nazgul, who are already underway.

The Nazgul painted up pretty quickly!



Next up are 3 more old-school Orks that will finish off 2 units, but I find painting them a bit of a chore for some reason :(

Ooh! Nice work on Xavier there. Have you got some more angles of him? The Nazgul look pretty cool as well. How many of the Nine do you have painted at this point?

Thanks, Az. No, I only got the one shot, I was aiming for the "golden angle" - Maybe I will aim to get more in future for models I am more proud of, like him. Also, I actually got my daylight bulb on him, which I think resulted in a better pic than my normal efforts...

Nazgul are going well - All 9 on foot are done, and 4 on horse now! I have just discovered that one of them still to be built is missing the lower half of a horse leg (the one that goes into the base :( ) so that will need some cunning GS work and a big bush to disguise it

The 3 Orks are done:



Pretty basic paintjob, base colours and a wash to match the rest of the army. Tried one little bit of "bling" in the form of a spanner tattoo for the Mek

This finishes off a unit of Lootas.

The heavy weapons there are right proper old-school! Lovely!

I've been putting together some Scions from a "start collecting" box - These guys are amazing!

I did want another squad of Grenadiers to finish off my DKOK, but FW are not in any rush to put them back on sale, so the Scions are stepping up

I love the toxic green skin tones on those Orks. Proper Old School!

Heh, thanks It's just green wash over yellow, surprisingly effective.

Nice work on the Mr Frodos. Funny how much the sculpts changed over the years.

Yeah, the plastic Fellowship models definitely have more in-scale heads, but then look strange in close-ups next to the metals...

Looks cool. The scions are some of my favorite minis for 40k, but I've never actually purchased them (what with them being second best to Marines and all that).

Very kind, thanks! Love that model, and as I had gone all Mk IV heads on my Salamanders, when I added a Librarian there was no choice but to pay FW (a lot!) and get him into my life

Nice builds on the Guard/Scion stuff, and Green-Loth looks the part for your Salamanders! (I don't like the all-blue librarian concept, either!)

Next up on my painting queue are 3 very old-school Ork Dreadnoughts - the 2 armed versions this time to make a unit of Killa Kans.

Hopefully I can keep up momentum to get them all done, but I may get bored before doing all 3 and switch to something else

Very cool Ringwraiths, Slinky. Seems we're both looking at Nazgul lately. I even found my other ones last night. How many of the dark riders does that make for you? And I think we'll need a group shot before too long!
