A while back i purchased some secondhand Blood Angels with the intent of turning the tanks and dreadnoughts into Space Wolves. With the Blood Angels codex due out Saturday, I started stripping the tanks and dreads for repainting. Here's the first wip of that

This afternoon's brush and paintwork

He'll be going into Ymir Twin-Soul's packs, along with a handful of Land Raiders, some Predators and Baal Predators, and a handful of characters including Ymir. Despite them being Blood Angel-centric, no Stormravens (They're reserved for the Wulfen Guard)

Further work on the rescued Annihilator, and some work on a rescueed Baal-pattern with assault cannons. I'm using the Wulfen half skull/ half flesh wolf head for Ymir's sigil, representing Ymir the Hero and Ymir the Beast. While his Company will be mainly tanks, there'll be some Infantry mixed in their too

Ymir is one of my oldest non-Space Wolf characters; I wrote up his list using the Apocalypse Lucifer Armoured Task Force formation several years ago. It needed an update so I went and bought the new Blood Angels codex and Chapter Approved.
The original armoured task force was Captain Tycho, 3 Tactical squads, 1 Command squad, 2 Predators, 2 Baal Predators and 4 Land Raiders.
My modified version will be Tycho (Ymir the Hero), 2 Predator Annihilators, 1 Deimos Infernus Predator to stand in for a flame storm Baal, 1 Predator Reaper (minigun Baal with hurricane sponsons from the storm raven) 1 Angel Infernus Land Raider, 3 Land Raiders (types TBA but probably Forgeworld) 3 Tactical Squads in Rhinos, 1 Company Veteran squad, and 1 each of Company Champion, Sanguinary Novitiate and Ancient. For fluff reasons I may put in a Techmarine.

Happy 2018 Dakka!

A while back I wrote up a list to work towards for Einarth Helgarsson's Primaris forces. It included 2 Redemptor Dreadnoughts; Toman, Remembrancer of the Scouring, and Borri Sigvallsson. Since the released easy-to-assemble Redemptor has all the bitz I armed Borri with (except the top missile pod?) I'll be building my actual Redemptor with the plasma cannon and assault fist, as Toman. Pics soon to follow. Also soon to follow are the Forgeworld doors for my Repulsors

Sorted out all the bitz necessary to give this Deimos Predator some guns; hope to have him finished by next week

To accompany the Annihilator, an Executioner-pattern Predator. Freshly assembled and awaiting paint tomorrow

I'm working on a new Razorback for the Long Fangs of Tolfdir Eagle-Eye's pack. Their story is that they, with their trusty steed, have survived unscathed for centuries thanks to their sublime weapons skill and the foresight and keen eye of their pack leader. Forelhost is a relic of their Company, and is festooned with runic trinkets and inscriptions to its machine spirit.

I was using a secondhand metal Baal Predator for a while, but got stuck into building a proper model recently. This is my progress thus far

In addition, I have a rhino/predator reinforced armour kit from Forgeworld drying after its obligatory scrub in warm water, so that'll be going on as well.

Started work on the two Aggressor packs for Einarth's Primaris company. The Fireborne will be armed with flame gauntlets, while Sigvald's pack, called Orrukbane for their destruction of a sizable Ork force, will be armed with boltstorm gauntlets and grenade launchers.

Apologies for the low res photos, I'm having to use my tablet camera since my phone is busted

So today I got my phone fixed and can now take halfway decent pictures again. So here's my salvaged Relic Predator. Once chaos, now claimed by the Lost Companies. Still missing the sponsons since I've somehow misplaced them.

No idea which Company he'll go with yet

I'm building another Freeblade for my Knight cadre; while they are supported by the Taghmata Hvergelmir, all Noble pilots swear an oath directly to Jorek to serve, and are not beholden to the Mechanicum. This Knight will be using the Forgeworld head I bought in August and a couple of extra bitz to represent unique technology. I'm going with a pastel pink and white colour scheme because I've never used it before. Bought some stencils from an art store to aid my currently terrible freehand skill. Early days

Found these while perusing the local store; going to make some Fenrisian crusaders to accompany my Guard forces.

Sculpts are pretty decent

Arnbjorn Red-Moon's Great Company is one of the youngest Companies to join with Jorek. Arnbjorn himself was banished from the Aett for disagreeing with the Great Wolf of the time. His company took ship into the sea of stars, vanishing from Imperial records. His spiritual successor is Gunnar Redmoon, the next Wolf Lord to bear the sigil of the Red Moon.
When Arnbjorn's company was discovered by the Lost Companies, his Iron Priests had all been slain in battle and most of the advanced equipment used by the Astartes was so much scrap upon the battlefield. Individual marines fought with spear, axe and crossbow, wearing armour made of hull plating and fighting with the beasts of the world for sustenance. The scouts looked down upon them, calling them Bone Gnawers, but the Thegn leading the scout team reclaimed them anyway. Since this rocky reunion, the Bone Gnawers have relied more upon the tech-magi of the Taghmata Hvergelmir than upon the other Space Wolves. They have regained their firearms and powered weapons, but prefer to use modified versions of their plate-and-mail suits. Partly this is down to choice, they are veterans in the use of this armour, but part of it is the difficulty they face in creating new power armour suits. Despite their low technology levels when compared to their brothers, the Bone Gnawers are carving a niche for themselves as stealth operatives to rival Leifnarr Morkaisson's Shadewolves.

A small company for now, the Bone Gnawers are all space marine scout units with camo-cloaks, chainswords and bolt pistols. They'll be supported by cavalry representing scout bikers. Model-wise they'll be a mix of Goliath gangers, space marine scout models, and converted Bloodbowl models as these ones are. No squad will be solely composed of one type of model. I might even throw some more outlandish conversions in there as well! To show off their connection with the Taghmata, I'll be using spare Skitarii and Electro-priest power packs and weapons.

Here's the first batch, let me know what you think!

Also, small update: The new Chaos Bloodbowl team are definitely getting added to the Bone Gnawers! Mixing those beastmen with wulfen parts will be excellent!

Been working on a Rogue Trader marine army so my smaller vindicator and predator will be repainted to match that. Here's their replacement, a reclaimed Iron Warriors predator and a relic laser vindicator.

Also worked on the terminators for Höd Grimmursson's Grand Company

Can't sleep so I worked on a bunch of hobby. Need to add the painted sponson weapons and tracks to these two, and then do transfers, but they're pretty good so far. These and the Sicaran I have sitting over on the other shelf are the primary tanks for the Winterborn, which brings that Company to almost a full wishlist's worth of dudes!

Been wading through the room of shame and came across the incomplete Ongmar Stormclaw with another Khornate champion. Here's the result

Quite happy with how angry he looks, and with the scale of the model. He'll be going onto a display base for a bit of extra height, but that's okay. He is supposed to represent a 30K primarch after all. I'm tossing up giving him both axes, one axe and another on his belt or (my preferred but difficult) both axes in one hand while he aims his pistol with the other hand.

Just some recent stuff; put Ongmar onto a scenic base to fit his Primarch-ness

Started work on a converted Sacristan Shrine for my Knights

And started on my Armies on Parade entry for this year, incorporating the soon-to-be-released Nighthaunt; a space hulk interior with a Crimson Slaughter warband surrounded by the ghosts of those they've slain. This guy is their Contemptor, being winched by the Galvanic Servohauler crane out of the silo he's kept in for his own and everyone else's safety

Sweeet, excellent winched contemptor ! Maybe a servant could try to direct him by pulling a chain, and eventually meet a gory death ? Not necessarily easy to represent though ^^. Looking forward to that scenery !

Been a while, but back to it! Started work on one of the 4 Repulsors Einarth Helgarsson's packs will have; all have the Forgeworld doors and will have shields and furs and such added to their flat panels.

KernelTerror, I'm building a Warpsmith with a massive key-axe haunted by the jailer-ghost from the latest AoS starter. He'll be on the ground praising the Contemptor as it's lifted out of the pit it was in

I'm working on personalised ghosts for each of the models on the board to be haunted by; even sticking some Chainrasps in with the Cultist mob. As their devotion to the Crimson Slaughter grows, the ghosts around them become more real....

Made up a base for the Repulsor. I know it'll mostly be hidden but I prefer to have matching bases anyway

Morning all! Yesterday was armies on parade day and, despite not getting the board 100% finished I submitted my crimson slaughter. Dark apostle, warpsmith, contemptor and five each of chaos marines, terminators and possessed. Both characters and the terminators were kitbashed, the chaos marines and possessed pretty much out of the box. Liked them so much I'm going to take them off their scenic board, base them, and run an army of them! Pics to follow but I snapped a quick shot of the apostle.

Also started serious work on the helfrost cannon for Bherek Oldwolf,my counts-as Bjorn the Fell-handed

Thanks amazingturtles! I tried to play up their haunted aspect. I like how it turned out. Here's some more

As ever, the phone flash shows up the worst aspects of the model

They all have little stories going with them; the reaper terminator has no eyes but sees through the eye in his armour. The two lightning claw terminators are on their way to becoming mutilators, and the mostly-mutant terminator into an obliterator. Or perhaps a spawn. Chaos! The contemptor is my favourite, he's huge!

Phones are evil like that. I always think i'm doing at least ok, then i take a picture and sadness reigns.

That guy is quite huge, and impressive, and the fleshy bits are nice and creepy.

I just realized i may have used that same book bit in one of my projects.

Amazingturtles, it's from the skaven plague monk kit. Great kit for weird priestly dudes, even if they're not mice.

Finished the helfrost cannon, then put it on the dread.

Hey Ketara! Body is a FW Wolf contemptor, claw is from a decimator daemon engine. Frost cannon is from the dreadnought kit with half a centurion grav cannon on the back. Connectors to the shoulder pads use cogs from a 15 mm tank kit with the smaller shoulderpad from the plastic cataphractii on top

Went back through the old Great Company formation and worked out what I had, then adapted it to 8th. So far, the formations are:
A Supreme Command featuring:

Wulgar Farsighted

Idolaf Longspear

Angeir Stormbreaker, Borri Red-Blade and Einarth Daemonshatter don't yet have models. I'm trying to combine Tartaros armour and Grey Knight bits for Borri.

The Rune Priests are supported by the Imperial Knight, Grimalkin

and the Lone Wolf Torvald Hammerhand (Originally misnamed as Bronrod)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The next formation is a Vanguard detachment, led by Jorek Greatwolf himself

with Helm Stonebrow, Keeper of Ancients

leading the Dreadnoughts, Baremund Beast-Bane

Erik Bloodfist, once-lord of the Ulfwerenar

Siggfried Skulltaker, Long Fang

Lothar Crowfeast

and the Mortis dreadnought Logan Skyreaper, youngest of the Dreadnoughts

They are supported by the Lone Wolf Alvring, who bears a combi-plasma weapon taken from a slain Imperial Fist during the fighting at the Cadian Gate

Gunnar's Hunt, the mounted bodyguard of Jorek Greatwolf

and Piemurr, with his pack of Skyclaws

Recently bought a bundle of artillery tanks to max out the heavy support choices of the Company; 2 Stalker/ Hunters and 2 Whirlwinds. Started work on one of each.

The Whirlwind Rodd Hagel (Red Hail in Gothic) has served Jorek's Company for many centuries

This Stalker tank was reclaimed from the Cadian Gate during the retreat from that warzone, and has yet to earn an honour-name
