Added some Treekin to beat up the Beastmen...

Can't take the credit for the conversions, these were an eBay purchase!

And some Liberators so I now have all the weapon variations...

I've been plugging away at my Daemons army. Just switched them onto round bases for AoS. Lots of pics & stuff HERE in my P&M Blog.

Sample of the type of stuff I'm building for this project:

The object of a game is to win. The *point* of a game is to have fun. Never confuse the two.

Yeah Amy is a master of the bright and colorful. Her Seraphon army was featured in WD recently.

Those Auric Runeguard are looking nice! I have started to paint up my first Fyreslayers today. No doubt Matt will have a whole lodge before they are finished ;-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Managed to finally finish a unit that has been floating around my painting table for a good few months - the Mighty Skullcrushers!

Led by a Khorne Lord on Juggernaut...

And I managed to 'pop in' a unit of Khornate Chaos Warriors too!

So, I was in such a crunch for painting time in the run up to Waaaghapaca that I literally did not have time take pictures as I went. Even this picture is from someone else at the event, but I promise to follow up with some individual shots. Here's the Slaanesh army I have been putting together for forever and a day, a pic taken from a distance that the army can be as cool or as awful as you care to imagine.

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”

My painted Stormcast Eternals so far. Five more Liberators and my "small" army is complete (1000 points PPC). Then more Liberators, some Judicators w. bows, Protectors and some heroes. Pics not so good quality, bad lighting and old mobile phone)

Lord Celestant on Dracoth

Lord Relictor

Five Liberators

Five Retributors (only two showing, best pic I had)

Five Judicators

Three Procecutors

Great job there Grimbok. I was going to make a thread on how I hate the gold on the Stormcasts, but you did a great job on them. I really like your minis.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

So... my picture taking skills are not so hot. I guess I need a cheap tripod and lighting setup? Or mostly need some kind of tutorial, because I keep ending up with blurriness and all the blends washed out. Anyway, here's a few closer shots of the army. I took these ladies/men/lady-men to a 4 game single day, which I will try to oh-so-briefly write up. Maybe as a tactics/unit breakdown more than a game-by-game.

Spoiler:

The boss lady:

The sorcerer:

Slaanesh jav cav:

Herald and "daemonettes":

Knights:

Hellstriders:

Seeker chariot counts as:

The biggest model I ever painted:

Great painting Grimbok, love the gold armour and the bright highlights on it!

Amazing conversions Red_Zeke! Look forward to the write up of the event.

RZ - Oh man, very cool to finally see the army! Albiet with slightly blurry pics

That last one (giant??) is freaking amazing, and somehow came out clear . The chariot conversion is also ace, just love it! Finally, really like the conversions on the troops, and am trying to figure out how to help you take a pic so we can see the paint jobs more

Looking forward to your tactics thoughts on the different units, too!

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I have a hero and two units that need to end up on rounds/ovals, but are otherwise done. I think I just need to get a little mini tripod so when I use the macro setting it doesn't blur from tiny movements.

@Grimbok: Those paint jobs are simply superb! Mind telling us how you painted them? Interested in copying your methods for both gold and teal

Thanks.

The gold is pretty straight forward.

Black undercoat spray
Retributor gold twice all over
Reikland fleshshade all over
Reikland fleshshade in deep areas again

Until this stage it is easy, standard og bigger brushes.

This is more tricky, needs to be neatly painted.
Highlight with retributor gold except for deep recesses
Auric gold edge highlight
Silver (mitril) on a few raised areas

The teal: kabalite green base color (two layers), coella greenshade on the cloth and along the recesses close to the gold, then highlighted with half/half kabalite/sybarite then a bit of sybarite on a few raised areas. But mostly just kabalite green.

Kabalite Green huh? I was sure you were using Stegadon Scale Green and Sotek Green... well that sure looks better than that! Thanks, will use!

Sotek is a cool color too, but more bluish. Kabalite/sybarite are great colors, but there are many cyan/bluish colors that are great and somewhat underused I think. Very good on the Stormcasts. Perhaps not that good on my new wood elves, back to good old green and brownish colors.

Thats the main strength of Stormcasts, many different and cool paint schemes.

BRUH. Clearly that's a Cygor (and maybe a touch of irony that the one-eyed thing is in focus)

My mistake . I thought it might be counting as a chaos gribbly, but with AoS you can of course take a Cygor along with the Slaanesh!

The conversions on it are really nice, too

I started playing AoS a couple months ago when someone mentioned I could use the Tzeentch Daemons I had for 40k but never used. I have enjoyed AoS a lot and playing somewhat regularly has also inspired me to crack in to painting some more of them. I run a purely Tzeentch list which has proven to be quite powerful even without any summoning...

So here is my Herald of Tzeentch which is a bit of a conversion with some parts from the Tzeentch Chariot kit, and a cluster of horrors:

Inspiring thread and keep up the great work everyone!
