Is that a holdover from Whisper destroying other lists in 1.0, you think?

I think a local player tried it, once, with the old decloak rules. It was mental.

Yeah that's right, generally one would set up their ships in a corner so that their slowest move would just make them overlap over and over, mostly its used as an opening gambit to make your opponent commit to an approach.

FFG have also made single ship build illegal! Rules now state that a squadron has to contain between 2-8 ships.

interesting... I'd just throw in a bomber but could mess up a lot of people's builds.

Trouble is that a bomber would have to fly right into the teeth of the entire enemy squadron for at least three turns before it can bomb, 6 hull goes POP!

Most people used it to force the enagaement to be in the middle of the rocks for their opponent or to make them commit to a line of appraoach whilst they ddint have to, also pretty handy for things like FSR and keeping everything in range 1 bubbles.

Outflanking

What I think we will see is FFG slowly re-releasing old ships into the 2nd Ed tourney format. Right now, Empire and Rebels have 3 ships each, with one ship having a lot of pilot options (TIE figher and X-wing). Scum have 4, with the escape pod being aces only. Resistance/First Order have 4 ships each (once the Mark 2 A-wing is released), and are likely to get a steady trickle from Episode 9 and the Resistance TV show. So, things are close to even right now, and they can drop in re-releases to the tourney format at a controlled pace to keep the numbers even. So I think we'll see a couple drops for Rebels/Empire when it comes to tourney legal ships, while they focus on Prequel Factions. We'll probably get a big burst of 3-4 ships in each prequel faction as a mega wave post sequel release, with a couple re-releases between them.

Then, they just release waves of new and re-used ships as needed. This ways, Resistance and First Order can be released as new stuff turns up in media, and FFG can have a low-investment re-release wave (or prequel faction release) in between.

Is Fortressing so potent it needs the subjective opinion hammer ? Yes it should be obvious but looks rather gameable

I always just saw it the same way as slow play, a bit dickish but generally meh.

I think it was also Soontir Fel. Though the idea of any ship now solo'ing any other list sounds highly improbable. Seems like a silly rule.

99.9999% of players will have between 2-8 ships anyway, and those who don't probably won't be dominating the meta. Loaded dice would be a bigger concern at that point.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

100% will as its in the rules now, a squadron consists of between 2-8 ships. Supposedly to stop people from flying 180pt super Dash.
