I'm about 1/4th through Sons of the Hydra and I'm not digging it.
I'm not a particularly big fan of the Alpha Legion, I was just intrigued by the premise.

I started reading it before I hit the sack last night and I may have been a bit groggy as I was reading it, but I think the main character isn't even of Alpha Legion stock. His squad definitely isn't as its explicitly stated that they are all renegades/outcasts from various Loyal/Traitor Chapters/Legions. Didn't really care for that aspect.
Since there is no good TV(imo) on atm, I'll probably start over after work tonight and try to kill it in one or two nights and get everyone here an overview. Unless it sucks and I can't get through it.

Yeah, Occam is pretty much an Alpha legion fanboy the premise interested me but the book is kinda meeh. I do feel he should of been Alpha legion stock and the rest from different legions like how it is in the book because chaos warbands sometimes take in those from different legions or loyalist space marine chapters.
