I just got hold of an old SM dread. RTB01 era. I was looking for some conversions online and then I thought if anyone has done one it would be you lot.
Gonna make mine Death Gaurd and need some inspiration on bulking it out a bit.

Assuming you're talking about this RB01:

I did this one for the 3.5 edition codex, trying to make a possessed dreadnought (and losing one of the arms and a shoulder)...

The new dreadnought design is a huge improvement imho.

Yeah I agree with that. But I'm also a fan of the old stuff and as most of my DG are RT era models I thought I'd keep the theme going.

this is nice

The 'New' dreadnought was released in 1992 or so - it's almost 20 years old itself. It's not new.
The difference is that Jes Goodwin had a hand in its design.

The other FW "pre-heresy" styled dreads are bollocks compared to the old one.

The older ones suit fine for "venerable" dreads.

I replaced one arm wit a peg (5mm rod) and a couple of 3mm magnets, so that it can take any of the walking toilet block's (R) weapon arms.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Hey! Glad you liked my attempt (2nd link). Well, you saw what I did, pretty much took the old guy and added plastic bitz to bring him up-to-date. He ended looking a bit like a PP warjack! I also have another old dread that I kept as is, since I really like the old stuff as well.
Do you have any of the original arm weapons? I guess you should first decide what weapons you want to give him.
Death Guard Pre-heresy or Nurgle?

I'm going nurgle with this guy even tho he's not the old chaos model. I picked up an old Eldar scatter laser (the guy who owned it was prob using it as an asscan) and what looks like a missle launcher arm with twin linked melta guns on it. When I feel proud of it, I'll post a pic.
