i was really impressed with the road to baghdad book very cool stuff . i wish there was more u.s. army mission since we did most of the heavy work . lol The karbala gap . should have been a mission . i know it was a sweep but there was a bunch of enemy fighting there . my buddy a bradely gunner racked up a ton of kills and took out a heavy loaded anti air craft gun mounted on a truck with a tow . the SFC Smith senerio was good to . He was attached to my unit 2-7 Infantry . i was in Charlie company 3rd platoon " Black Sheep " . at the air port battle . a guy in bravo company had the first javelin confirmed kill ever on a t-72 . what had happened was a bradley dismounted its infantry team at the base of a bridge and moved up the bridge to get a better look , overwacthing the airport and was hit by a main tank round from a t-72 . the round went through one side and didnt penatrate to the other side . the vechicle damaged was able to move back down the ramp avoiding any more fire . thank god the dismounts weren't inside . then the infantry team rushed up the bridge with a javelin and took out the same t-72 .theres footage of it on youtube . it was played a lot on fox news . during the invasion he had 3 tank kills and one missfire ! pretty cool .also a plane on the run way was destroyed during the attack on the airport .
