Hi there!

Haven´t posted here in a while, some may remember me from other 40k boards, so here is what I came up with lately

I wanted to have something simelar like the Hades breaching drill (tunneler) from FW for my Imperial Guard army and came up with this. It is inspired by modern drill heads e.g. used for oil search and features three rotating seperate drills. The rest of the Styx pattern drill is inspired by WW2 German mini-submarines (Hecht, Seehund) and some movies.

The Styx Pattern drill uses its forward heavy duty drill to tunnel and is propelled forward by three seperate tracks. Melta Cannons on the sides deal with dense rocks or nasty heavy armoured opponents on the surface. The Styx pattern drill is crewed by two crew men (driver and engineer) and has a rear mounted small cabin to carry a few grenadiers directly into battle.

So here it is, including some WIP shots. The body was made from an antiperspirant roll-on stick, which had this interesting shape. The rest is some plastic card, green stuff and milliput Hope you like it!

Cheers

Thats really cool! I like it alot more than my termites! (but it seems a little small compared to the marine to use as a drop pod)

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

......thats amazing, Ive been looking into make some drills my self, for a my Krig engineer army,

Hey look buddy, I'm an engineer; that means I solve problems.
Not problems like 'What is beauty?', because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy.
I solve practical problems.

Thanks for the positive feedback

@Grundz

Concerning the size, the original Hades breaching drill from FW is also rather small, so Ididn´t want to make mine too big But I agree a SM wouldn´t fit inside, but a "standard template guardsman" would

@Orinoco

The army I create is based on assault pioneers/siege regiments, using alot of inspiration from FW like Krieg and Elysian and from the Playstation game KILLZONE 1,2 and 3. Currently I am painting my army and will post them on dakka when they´re ready

@TPSOhuzzar

Cool, go ahead! Looking forward to your version!
