I'm still an amateur so you'll have to excuse the sloppiness. Just wondering what people think of the paint scheme:

My army grew quickly as I played more games so things were built and painted to play and the time and care wasn't taken that should have been. But there it is! When I'm next feeling creative I have paint scheme in mind for my nightbringer.

The paint scheme is interesting. It has an almost Mega Man plastic and metal look to it. Can I get a close up of an immortal? Also, the monolith looks very different painted that way. It really brings a lot of contrast to that model. I think the lord could have used a bit less red, though. Makes him look like he's wearing a spandex jumpsuit.

They look pretty epic - I love the colours but then a gain my tau also have that color scheme! The bases also look pretty amazing. Fair play and well dome!
Also remember that not many of us get paid for this so we're all amateur too!

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

Yeah the paint scheme is different hehe. I wasn't sure about the scheme for the lord, the cape and the base I was really happy with but at the time I did think that he looked like he was wearing a onesy or something.

I'm thinking of painting my wraith lord and next monolith in almost all bone effect with lots less red. The Night bringer I have is going to be mostly the bone effect, with the fleshy parts I'm going to go for a necrotised flesh look if I can.

I went through a handful of paint schemes before I decided on this one. I had blueish purple with orange detail on one....looked like it should be dancing in a carnival or someting.

Here's the immortal:

Here's some closer monolith pics:

Ok, i like the Monolith but the bone effect looks a little like the sort of plastic wood that you get in cheap cars!

But the redt of the army looks pretty cool, first one?
If so they are quite epic indeed. Great job dude!

Honestly, when I first saw your scheme it kind of threw me off and I caught myself looking at each one liking it a little more and then the moment I saw Munga's post all I could think about was Mega Man Necrons!

I love the simplicity of the scheme, combined with your attention to detail makes the models pop in a great way. They're looking good, and I love the scarabs lol.

The part I noted the most was the bases, very nice. Sets the mood!

Hey thanks everyone!

Yeah it's my first proper army. I had some Smurfs for a while and was teased relentlessly for being a noob who collected a 'noob army' a good ten years ago now.

The paint scheme is whacky but I wanted to do something with washes and follow a scheme I had designed rathert than using an exisiting one or just painting and seeing what I get.

As for 2nd edition models? I've just bought a lot of 10 on ebay for £27.50 (They were going for between £14 and £23 per model on some listings!!) so I'll have a total of 12 OOP models for my army.

I'd love to get squad of destroyers and immortals from the main store on ebay that seems to deal in Necron OOP but he wants way too much for me to justify paying.

Thanks again though everyone!

The paint scheme looks very tyranidy but I must say that it works for the Necrons. It's a very different take on them and I enjoy it a ot, then again at my local store there's plenty of tinfoil necrons and it's nice to see those models and their fine details get something different then the silver and wash treatment.

Your wish is my command:

Grabbed a couple of lots from eBay. I've been searching the forum and I'm going to grab some CSC to pull the paint off them and repaint them in my scheme. This is what I have:
28 warriors
4 immortals
5 Destroyers
2.5 scarab bases
1 Lord
