Here is a quick commission I did, Raven Guard Sergeant. I am pretty happy with the results. I tried to keep the highlighting to a minimum, I felt like the stark black/white contrast was enough of an eye catching look, I didn't need to go over board w/ ultra stark highlighting. All vallejo colors were used, highlighting was done w/ oils. The parchment attached to the right shoulder comes out of the Flagellent Warband from the Fantasy line. You can catch more pictures in my gallery! enjoy!

Wow. Looks great; I love the contrast of the clean white to the black and the details really help show off the model. I think it looks great, the gem on the Laurel is really well done and whilst I think I'd prefer the sword to be a lighter colour, I think it looks really nice.

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."

agreed, the sword would look better lighter, but i was trying to stick w/ a color theme. The eyes are green, laurels, and sword..I originally thought of blue, but it seems that everyone does the ps blue..

Thanks for the compliment!

Very nice. Nice, clean whites. Would you say its easier to get a good white with Vallejo's paints than it is with GWs?

Vallejo's white is very creamy, and I think applies better than GW's. Part of the crisp look is also due to the fact that it was airbrushed on, this helps keep the color appearance pretty smooth.

Another awesome way to airbrush white is liquitex white ink. You can airbrush it straight out of the bottle and it goes on even better than vallejo model air white, which is saying something. Nice job man, I'm a sucker for the raven guard as I love low profile and matte stuff. I agree with your stance on highlighting as well; coming from a WWII model builder I have never been a huge fan of the ridiculous 'eavy metal over the top highlighting.

Excellent. Might have to pick up some Vallejo paints then.

Those appear to be Forge World Raven Guard shoulder pads.
