Some stunning work!!! And that Cat train looks very promising. A few rivets and she’s a good’un!

That is a great building. Simple enough on the outside, and fully loaded on the inside.

It's big and it's not ruined. Pure win. It is an excellent centerpiece for any table.

Cam, I do hope you enjoyed working on such a large piece, and one that is intact. I find such project far more enjoyable to undertake than small and/or ruined. If I may, I'd like to cast my vote for more such projects. When you have the time and energy for one. Summer is coming. Maybe some time outdoors first?

Hmm, you know; maybe you should do an image search for "Frank Lloyd Wright unity temple".

N.B. If you make them just right, you can nest them togethr for storage, or use them to store smaller stuff.

Sooo much to catch up on- great update all around:

1) I love the work zone- stuff is clearly ergonomically organized to b maximally available when the Spirit moves; shelves are for finished projects, leftover bits (until maybe needed again and returned to slowly surging work zone) and/or cats.

2) The factory is terrific. I'm slowly starting to think before cutting styrene (makes me 'ead 'urt- I shudda bin a Ork player) but you combine aesthetic appeal, realism, playability and whimsy allin one go. And apparently don't think about it whilst doing it. And throwing in the odd revolutionary innovation as occasion demands (don't think I've forgotten about adding iron powder to your resin castings so the whole thing is flipping magnetized- I still want to try that!).

3) The train is a good find at the boot sale. That crane car is crying out to be made into a railstock Manticore or Deathstrike. The caboose roof might want to come off, so it could be a troop carrier or comms car. Or remove the whole housing and it becomes a flat car for missile reloads for the Deathstrike, et al. The comparison to your axles up build is interesting, but not necessarily in the re-think (me-thinks) realm: The new one is clearly Imperial- all smooth and modern materials and gluten-free. The other is just as clearly Ork or Chaos, and built by the users with a whole different set of criteria in mind. Both are good, and of course open the possibility of creating a diorama based on the Great Train Raid (US Civil War). A Union (US, Northern States) group of raiders slipped behind Confederate (Southern States, Rebels) and raised heck for several days and then fled back towrds Northern lines in a stolen train, hotly pursued by Rebs in another train. For you, the question would be who is chasing who? And you get to kit out both trains with all kind sof ordnance.

Great to have you back- I got more learnin' to do!

Just caught up. I'm really sorry to hear you're going through that. I'm not a "share IRL on Dakka" guy anymore, but I'll make an exception- I was diagnosed w/ BPD in 2001 and it took me until 2004 to believe them. Started treatment, had a lot of challenges regarding meds etc. It sucked the and I was sick and miserable all the time. Finally in mid-2007 they got the mix right, early 2008 I started seeing an improvement, and today I'm the super-awesome awesome guy you've all come to know and love. Or know at least.

On to more awesome stuff- love this:

Blimey Cam, just been catching up with you postings and had not realised you were going through so much. Depression through injury sucks, been there myself and it just takes time and perseverance. Don’t push your body too hard I had to learn to walk again, and when your in that moment you push too hard, to soon and end up setting yourself back. For me as a physical worker and keen Rugby player and cyclist it was a nightmare. My wife, kids and modelling got me through but it takes time.
Others have said it here, your work inspires almost every reader to try and emulate similar works they see on your thread, I for one am astounded at the speed and quality of detail you put into every project, you certainly give rise to the green eyed monster on more than one occasion!!!
If your ever down the midlands way get in touch, would certainly love to meet the legend that inspires me to give something new a go,,

Love the Necromunda-type terrain pieces. I've had a stab at ferrous rust, and gotten some good feedback from all y'all on how to do it more betterer. Now, I'm wondering how you get that bluey-greeney oxidized bronze look? And are the smears on the more aluminum looking pieces dilute black ink, or thinned out shoe polish, or what?

Great stuff- and thanks for the lessons!

That train has soooo much potential. Is it motorised so you can run it on a track

(loving the minion firefighter sticker - maybe incorporate that into some graffiti paintwork on the final build ...)

Twinners terrain is looking great!
Different designs of train for different reasons man - the large driven wheel thing is a product of early steam engines that had vast amounts of torque - you could have a dual gauge goods yard or it could possibly represent a peice of left over tech from an imperial colony before making contact woth the imperium again, or worse - a colony which succumbed to one of the myriad of perils the galaxy can conjure..

That is hilarious. I just went poking through some pictures of zombicide miniatures. I saw some with sandals and open toed shoes, but no true thong flip-flops. I figured that miniature line would be a good start being that they have characters on roller skates and other silliness. I wonder how easy it is to find minis of the right scale with bare feet to steal?

The tank factory is pure genius mate, the inside shots are truely awesome, beautifully detailed!

And what a find with the train ! I’ve been looking for years for a descent train to 40 kayify ! Mash it all together with lots of bits and put loads of rivets on it jobs a good’un !

It might prove wasteful, but the figures that AW Miniatures and other producers of Japanese Shogunate warriors and peasants make have sandalled or bare feet. I'll try to check, but I think the old Wargames Factory naginata warriors had sandals, or at least tabi shoes on.

Love the concept of 'The Emperor's Aussies' though- too good to pass up! Fair dinkum and a pukka idea.

Think bare feet with gs thongs may be your best hope.

That's a clever idea. Seems like there could be potential there.

Any ideas for your next project? If not, there is a new piece of terrain for the Knights, but GW really just phoned it in with some new bits on an existing kit. Would love to see your take on it.

the tripod idea is neat...but i think it would work better with a screw as intended...for me hot glue is not in the same league as sturdy^^

also...i think your best bet could be with zulu warriors from wargames factory...they have to be bare feeted?
but honestly...you can sculpt them flatfeed yourself with ease...i cant remember how many fists and hands you already did...feets are by comparison probably way easier...

I like the idea of holding 3 models at the same time with the tripod, is it pretty steady? If it does not work out pretty sure you can make it into something interesting.

I have one of those tripod thingies mouldering in a corner- I can use it to hold the verdammten resin parts together whilst I'm GREENSTUFFING them to get them to stick together! Brilliant idea. Although I might screw it to the base as well, like Viktor. I have a tendency to hot glue gun my thumbs together if I'm not careful.....

Rock on!

Good idea for holding mini's. I would be too tempted to turn it into a model though, but I have a handy hand thing already.

Not where I should be

Thank you all.

Sat down yesterday evening with a blank piece of MDF flooring, and ended up with this, fair bit still to go but chuffed the muse is returning....

Advice please I am trying for an Imperial thingy, that has been influenced by Tzeentch....

Thanks for looking, and C & C encouraged.

You seriously did that whole thing in one sitting? Wow! It looks great so far. Are you planning on putting railings on the raised platform? As for Tzeentch influence, I have trouble with what's good for Tzeentch and what's good to represent Slaanesh. I feel like the over lap a lot, so I could be way off with this suggestion. The color changes are already great, as an addition for Tzeentch influence I'd sculpt in a small area of one of those tanks to have a different texture with an eye looking out, or a small tentacle reaching out. If you want to have a little fun with it, maybe even have both in the same spot, with the tentacle poking at the controls for this machinery.

Keep up the great work! I'm glad the muse is returning

You've certainly got the tzeench colors down pat, and the structure is clearly Imperial in origin... so I think you've nailed your two main themes.
