After about 2 1/2 years in the local german tournament circuit i'l finally attend to my first 2-day event: Throne of Skulls by
GW Germany in the famous "Drakenburg" in Duesseldorf.
Instead of rebuilding or changing my regular
CSM-Army to a more competitive list than i usually field (mono-nurgle, 2-3 Dreadnoughts, less than 3 Oblits) i decided to rebuild my Deathwing-Army to benefit from the changes that came along with the last Rules-
FAQ.
It took some time, especially because i decided to field (and subsequently hunt & buy from ebay) only old metal miniatures.
The prices for
TH/
SS Terminators were very high and my girlfriend bought a nice and shiny new venerable Cybot for my birthday, so my initial pure infantry list went down the drain for some Dreddie-goodness.
Here is the list i am going to use:
Belial with
TH/
SS
Venerable Cybot with SyncLaser, additional armour
Venerable Cybot with SynLaser, Rocketlauncher
5 Deathwing-Terminators with Assault Cannon, 1x Claws, Apothecary with
TH/
SS, Standard Bearer with
TH/
SS, 1x
TH/
SS
5 Deathwing-Terminators with Cyclone, 2x Claws, 3x
TH/
SS
5 Deathwing-Terminators with Cyclone, 2x Claws, 3x
TH/
SS
5 Deathwing-Terminators with Cyclone, 1x Claws, 3x
TH/
SS, 1x
SB + Chainfist
Maybe not the perfect loadout, but i already got 3rd place with'em in a local tournament *yay!*
So without further ado - here are the pictures:
The whole 1500 pts army
Belial (Lysander conversion)
Venerable Cybot (plastic)
Venerable Cybot (metal)
Deathwing Squad with Cyclone, Claws,
TH/
SS
Squad 2, same loadout as above
Squad 3 with a nifty little chainfist
Belials personal guard, with oldschool banner, Apothecary (from the red cross^^) and my beloved Assaultcannon (simply love that weapon)
I know this army isn't very competitive, but it's a lot of fun to play and gives lots of opportunities for heroic stories and feats (cyclone from Squad 2 survived over 10 rounds of melee with the Avatar of Khaine!).
Battle reports soon to come, i'll be posting a report when the event is over (21. and 22. May) and soon i'll take pictures of my other Deathwing related stuff (got lotsa termies in a big toolbox) - so stay tuned for more!
