When I got back into 40k I dragged my Fiancée with me and she's been working on and off on her Space Wolves over the last year or so. Recently she decided to start trying to improve her painting by painting some figures she's not used to and I think she's done pretty well.

The first is a Nurgle corrupted Space Marine I built some time ago but never did anything with, she took him and painted him as a fallen Blood Raven.

After that I asked her if she wanted to paint one of my Orks (which will be the first non-marine she's painted), she said 'yes'.

It's certainly a hell of a lot better than I paint my boyz...

Wow… to have your better half involved in your hobby? That is very nice. Don’t get me wrong, my wife understands my late night’s gaming and my hours on end in the basement painting and all the new un-opened boxes of 40K models by my desk…. I think it’s great that they “put up” with us….
I think my fear would be my wife get’s into the hobby…. Uses my stuff to build an army of her own and then beats me in a game….. I think that would do it for me…. For now she just looks at me funny and I’ll be happy that is as far as her interest goes…..

The mini's look great by the way......

For The Greater Good….. says who?

Those are awesome! What was her reaction to painting them? Any interest in continuing on with Chaos or Orks, or was this a "one off" for the experience?

My wife is very good at painting but doesn't have the focus for it, will work on a miniature and then put it down for months.

@EmperorsChampion: Thanks, it's very nice to be able share the hobby and know that even if we're home alone,we can still get a game

@Rhich: Heh, she's beaten me a few times, you get over it... eventually

@Skalk Bloodaxe: Thanks! These were one-offs she did taking a break from her Space Wolves army.

I too have this problem. Which is sad considering she is miles ahead of me when it comes to painting.

The models in the OP look really nice. Tell your wife to keep up the good work.

They look great wib tell her well done! I'll agree hobbying together is so much fun. I do most of the painting though I have to twist my hubby's arm to get him to paint his armies. I once I got him to spend an evening painting SW shoulder-pads. Game wise I usually get thrashed by him so his ego doesn't suffer much.

<--- Jealous My better half won't game at all be it console pc or tabletop. She just thinks I am silly but she does like the mini's when they are painted. oh and btw those are nice painted mini's And it's always nice to paint different models and in the end you always seem to find a technique that you can than take back to your main army mini's. Keep up the good work.

I got my wife to paint one of my minis one time and then when it looked 10 times better than mine, my local club buds didn't let me hear the end of it. SO now she sticks to her minis and I continue to try and copy the methods she does
