Well after alot of thinking and stuff I have come up with a theory that the second legion is lnked with the 21st founding.

So the theory is that the second legions geneseed was corupt and the survivors were included in the ultramarines legion (the ultramarine legion increased in number rapidly etc..) . Most space marine chapters use the ultramarine geneseed and during the 21st perhaps the geneseed of the second legion was mistaken for ultramarines geneseed because the second legion became part of the ultramarines and the geneseed of the second legion caused the disasters of the 21st founding . If you think hard about it, it makes sence because when the 21st founding happened nobody knew anything about the second legion and they would not know if the ultramarine geneseed had geneseed from other legions.

So to sum it up, the 21st founding used the geneseed from the second legion.

So what do you guys think of the idea ? good thoery or just stupid ?

This is just a theory and for all we know the second primarch might have eaten to much cake and gotten a stomach ache and had to stay in bed for the whole of the great crusade

All details about the 2nd would have been locked away including any gene-seed.
The gene-seed still 'in use' as it were would have simply been carried on in the Ultramarines and their successors until it was lost.

Even if the second legion got thrown in with the Ultra's (somewhat debatable) their geneseed would have ended there. No way would any warrior from that legion have had his progenid organs transplated into a neophyte.

Would they use tainted marines in deperate times, mabye.
Would they have allowed the taint to be carried by decendants, I don't think so.

The 21st founding was just a mistake. Alot of mechanis trying to replicate the emporers genetic manipulation without having anywhere near the tools or knowledge that he did.

Their geneseed is likly still locked away on Mars, right next to the traitor legions, with a massive "Do Not Touch, Bad Mojo" sign above the cryo door.

Was the 2nd legion marines corrupt or maybe just there primarch?

One was Lost and the other was corrupt or something...
I think it was the 2nd who was allowed to live whilst the other legion was supposedly dealt with by Russ and the SW...

"The Lost" and "The Purged" is how they're referred to in 'The First Heretic'.

Well the Lost are probably the ones who were supposedly allowed to join the Ultras.
The Purged well that's obvious...
Or maybe they just got lost and never came back...
