Anytime.

I live in Culver City, but I'm not against driving. There are actually quite a few people who play 40k in the Pasadena area if you don't know that already.

I play (click on icons to see pics): DQ:70+S++G(FAQ)M++B-I++Pw40k92/f-D+++A+++/areWD104R+T(D)DM+++

Hey you guys should check this site out too. www.rowusa.org its free to join and should try getting a hold of me on there.

We are a gaming group with 40K, Fantasy and confrontation players, there are about 100 members and several chapters across the states. We meet every 2 weeks for 40K in pasadena. We used to meet every week in Rancho Cucamonga but that have moved to Riverside and is mostly fantasy players due to lack of 40 K participation. You should check out the site and come out some time. Lots of experienced players there.

There's gaming at the Game Zone? On Colorado and Sierra Madre? I haven't been there since I stopped playing SW CCG.

No, there is no scheduled gaming at GameZone, but I know the management there and they will let me play 40K there.  Wanna play?

Wait, why don't you game at the GW in glendale? There's a dearth of Independent gaming stores in the Pasadena area, and it's a pretty big store for a GW. I go to college out in Claremont, but when I'm on break, I typically game at the GW in Glendale. They have 5 tables, which isn't anything compared to the bunker, but it's pretty close to my home. It's pretty much open gaming Monday - Wednesday, and also on Saturday. Hell, they're so laissez-faire nowadays that it's open gaming pretty much every day, regardless of what "events" are scheduled for that night. The guys that work there are pretty cool, although the manager is a little shady.

In regards to your question about the game, I've been pretty 40ked out since about August. I've been strictly Fantasy since then. If I can scrape together some cash I might start Tau, but I don't foresee myself playing 40k for a while. It's just not as fun. That and my new and improved Dwarves are doing pretty well. Anvil = the roxxor.

Anyway, next week I'm on spring break, so I'll probably be in Mexico.... which, in geek, translates into at the Galleria GW playing, probably Monday through Wednesday, and possibly this Saturday. We'll see.

You answered your own question, the manager is a troll there and I find the other employees troubling.  I go to the GW store in Arcadia when I have to go to a GW store, even though I live closer to Glendale.  The other problem I have is that most of th players at the Glendale store are 12-16 years old.  I am old enough to be their father.  There is something unsettling about that.

Yeah, there are a lot of little kids, but there are some older guys. And Arcadia has 1 table. 1 Friggin' table! I mean, that just doesn't work. And they have the same problem, with all the kids. As I said, a complete death of indy gaming in the area. But if there's a whole mess of gamers who meet in Altadena, there must be gamers about. They're just hiding. Maybe all those weird Cal-Tech kids...

I just don't think you're going to do better, as far as stores are concerned, than GW Glendale.  What ever happened to games and cards (formerly thunder and lightning) in Eagle Rock?  I wonder if they do miniature gaming.

Games@Cards does not do any miniatures gaming, only Magic and Yu Gi Oh.  We have WFB players playing in Altadena at a place with 3 tables and, like I said, GameZone allows GW gaming there.  They are also considering carrying GW stuff again.

I just don't like hanging out at GW stores in malls with millions of kids.  You are welcome to come on up to Altadena if you want to try something different.

So hold on, there's some guy in Altadena named Dennis who has 3 tables at his home? Like 6x4? That's pretty impressive.

That or I've misread where it is that you all play.

@Chris,  Yes Dennis has 3 (6x4) tables and has WFB/40K gaming every other Friday night at his place.

@Alex, I will be there to play some 40K and get a game of Bloodbowl in.

Off Allen? Well, I may. I have workout at 3 on Friday afternoon, possibly 4. That means I'm throwing my pc and clothes into my truck around 5, which puts me back in the Pasadena area around 6. And this is a store of sorts? And you guys play Fantasy or what?

Nope, it's the garage in his backyard.

It is an internet store of sorts. . .but the brick and mortar is just a garage.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

Hey, I need a tune up game with my Thousand Sons before Adepticon. I haven't really played them in a while (The Sacramento GT does not count)

So who is up for a game of 40k for 2000 points?

And don't bring a scrub list either. Bring a list as tough as you can make it.

Well Darrian, it looks like we have a league playoff game to be played.

Do you want to do it Friday night?

It looks like I also have a Playoff game for the SCGWL playoffs on Saturday. It looks like I will have a busy weekend of 40K.

No Allan I will not have time to play your GK with my GK this Friday. I will be playing Bloodbowl and my Black Legion on Friday.

For the record, where is this place? Could someone please PM me the address? I think there's a 75% chance I'll show and bring 2000 pts of shooty Dwarves (with an anvil, but not Thorek--I promise). Anyway, that'd be swell. If you guys want me, that is. Hell, I'll show even if it means I'm watching games all night. A gaming "place" in altadena of all places...

So yer yella?

With work and school, I don't have that much time to game. I thought I could knock it out while I can. I will be in Chi-town in two weeks.

It is a playoff game, and you can't hide from me forever.

Yup. It is tough facing 15 lascannons when you have 30 models.

I still had a chance to pull it out if my demon prince could have gotten a penitrating hit on his Leman Russ. But I whiffed, and that was the game.

Didn't one of your posts on THIS thread ask your opponent to "bring as tough a list as you can make it"? Maybe Alex was just doing as you asked.

That list that you played Alex with is not the one you are using at Adepticon, is it?

No I wouldn't play that list cause its for power armies, I built it that way because Allen wanted a tough list. Statistically I think it was a bad move to try and pen the leman russ with the demon prince because if he is strength 6 he only averages a glance on 12 armor.

I think if not for the mistake I made of putting my independent characters in base to base the demon prince, he would have been killed in hand to hand in 1 round like I do to everyone else's demon prince. Instead of getting 10 power fist attacks he would have gotten 22 power fist attacks 11 of which would have gotten to reroll misses, thats about 14 hits and 7 wounds no armor save, nope I don't think he would have made it, my mistake though. I wont put my officers in base to base again.

That game shows why its not good to play armies with 30 models. Looks like they are now called the 970 sons.

Im not sure when or where adepticon is, but I was debating over whether or not I should keep the same tournament list that I have been playing or replacing the ratlings with rough riders, its a tough call.
