I always recommend icons other than chaos glory. I personally switch between running my Night Lords as Chaos / Blood Angels, but whenever i run them as chaos i use Icons of Slaanesh (they are assault veterans, and adept at instilling fear, giving them lightning fast assaults before their prey have even the chance to react) and MoK on the lord.
I would suggest consolidating the 3rd raptor squad into the other two. as it is, you have A LOT of kill points for a 1500 point game.
What is the point of the personal icon on the Lord?

The icons were to add a little fluffiness to the army without taking away from their undivided stance.

You may be right, origionally I had to 10 man CSM squads for troops but opted for 4 5-man squads for objective purposes.

In case he comes in with one squad of raptors and the other two don't?

As far as I'm aware (i lost my C:CSM a while back) but Icons don't effect deep striking for jump packs, only Daemons, right?

And While I love the idea that Night Lords are renegades without necesarily being Chaos, sadly most of the legion has fallen into that chaos debauchery, mostly khorne and slaanesh. Granted, when I use them I give excuses and make them 'counts as' instead of actually icons, but there you go.

Personal Icons allow for other deepstrikers besides daemons to use it.

You may be right, I'll jiggle it around and see what I can come up with.

Thanks,

Yeah the icons only are for Termies/Oblits/Daemons.

I'd have to agree that there are too many KPs in the lists. Also I think you should switch out the Chosen. I'm assuming that you're outflanking with them. But still you're gonna start out with 7 units, 4 in tanks. If you could find a way to switch in some longer range anti-tank. I know its not really fluffy, but I think it could help.

REPENT for tommorrow you DIE!!!!

People would be surprised to find out what is fluffy and what isn't for night lords. My list runs a pred and a dev squad and is still considered fine fluffwise, in the night lords books they have land raiders and what not, they can use everything a normal legion can, they just use it better

And thank you Billie Joe. I was pretty certain that icons didn't apply to wings / jump packs, so thank you for clarifying

Depends on where you're looking. If for instance we go by the chaos codex 3.5 rules they have 1 heavy support choice and 4 fast attack choices. So yea they could have the same kind of heavy vehicles as other legions/warbands, but they will have less of them in this instance.

I'm referencing the Novels mostly. While they may not have as many heavy support, they still do. I balance mine out with 5 to 6 squads of assault marines, captains, honor guard, etc with jump packs or bikes and whatnot to 1 or 2 heavy support. I feel this is still acceptable

My point is that there are lots of sources for night lords fluff so knowing what is or isnt fluffy is hard.

In my own opinion, you can base your army off the fluff of your choice. If you want to do it off the old C:CSMs, go for it, if you wanna do it off the novels, well, that's cool too.

I don't necessarily agree that there are lots of NL fluff sources, but I agree that they don't all really coincide perfectly.
