Been off the painting scene for a fair while with my university work consuming the entirity of my life. Been doing some painting over the past week or two, and part of it is getting back into the swing of painting, and some of it is trying out some new looks.

Personally I'm trying to go with a more "cartoony" look, seeing as I can't seem to get the realistic look down that well and something I need to practice as well. Iv'e noticed that what looks acceptable by eye suddenly becomes abhorrant under a camera, so I do apologise for the quality of the painting in advance. I'm also aware I haven't based most of these, I'm going to base them at some point, but I'm focusing a lot more on my painting skills, then moving on to basing stuff. (I can do it ok, just need better practice on other stuff for now.)

I also have 2 WIP, got a modified dark angels company master thats about 98% complete, and a cyclone terminator that I only started today.

I was thinking of starting wet blending but seeing the quality of my painting I think I need to improve my current standards before I start advancing. Any advice on these models would be really appreciated and be as honest as possible, only way I'll get better.

I really like that purple marine. As in I really really like him! Please do a few more, the gold bolter goes really well with the colours. Try weathering him up a bit

I am going to have to agree; the purple and blue with gold looks divine.

On the pessimistic side of things, any suggestions for improvement?

I must say that I'm really liking using brown and blue as a colour scheme lately. Not too sure why but a regal blue and desert yellow REALLY seem to work well.
