Just recently got my own table up and running. Not alot to show just now since most terrain is WIP. But I'm so happy I wanted to share right away

Table and first finished terrainpiece:

Two 4 by 3 feet boards placed atop a smaller folding pingpong table, so i can break it down and set it up again rather quick and save space since the apartments rather small.

(Yes, I will fasten the battlemat to the boards later to remove fold lines)

Due to the flash the contrast is rather stark so the rust is much smoother and darker IRL.

I would suggest that longer grass that you can buy from gw or any model store would look more natural than those green plants other than that looks pretty good

I like the green of the table

Looking good so far! I think you should paint those plastic green plants ... as they are they look unfinished. Just a dark green, then a lighter green highlight with a wash to tie them together would do I think.

Also, when done with that, add a little more flock/basing around the bases of the green plants ... right now they look glued on rather than growing out.

Looks like you'll have a great table when you get a few more peices on there!

Cowpow16, yeah, I like the idea of a green table, the overall theme will overgrown ruins claimed by orks. So post-post-apocalyptic if you will.

Mephistoles1,Flock around the tall grass....why didn't I think about that. Adding more right away.

Thanks for the input and tips

Flocking added, will look into dulling down the colour of the tall grass after the glue has dried.

love it one thing is the grassmat glued to a board? of not and you are planning to do so you got to iron it first gently iron it with the the iron standing on the lowest mode not very hot and iron the underside not directly on the grass it could get burnt and you dont want that.. believe me

Wow! Thanks for the great response! So, here's an update:

Tank-trap - flocked around base of tall-grass, hit them with Goblin green and the tip/upper halfs with Scorpion green and rounded of with som Devlan Messiah. While I was at it I hit the rocks with some Devlan too.
I'm struggling to find adequate lighting to give good colour representation, hence the photos in different lights. IMHO colours appear IRL in between the photos above.

Group shot of my Battlefield accesories, in different stages of completion. Not much modding going on, I've added a few bits and some Ork glyphplates here and there and I was thinking of glueing that boarding plank to the second tank trap.

Blurry photo of primed Ork Barricades - 'nuff said.

Joske, thanks for the tip! I was thinking of stapling or nailing it to the boards, something less permanent in case I want to do a more varied terrain in the future.

The Battlemat was just a quick and easy solution.

Good work to date!

Do you find the Ork barricades worth the money? I have been considering getting some but they just dont seem very substantive and could be potentially kitbashed from bits?

Templeorks, Yeah, I'm adding som bits to make it look like that tank-trap has seen som action over the decades.

Ratius, Ork barricades are def worth the money, lots of fun little details.

So, just playtested the table, works fine although myself and GF suffered a crushing defeat, uphill from turn one, tabled by turn 4.

View of the warzone, note the custom made terrain from Battlefoam cut-outs. Handy, cheap and easily customizable. (Will replace with "real" terrain.)

The battle raged only on half the table so a big portion was used for Cola and Codex storage. And happy GF albeit the impending doom of our combined forces (Orks and DE).

It's a bit blurry, but if you look closely you can see a primed a Raider.
