So, I might just be showing some people in my regular D&D group how to play
40K this weekend.
None have ever played before, so I'm just making 1000 point lists.
Right now, I have
CSM and Ork lists for them to use that I'm happy with. I'd also like a Dark Eldar list for myself, in case I end up playing one of them in later games.
I just can't build a list I'm totally happy with, though. My
40K group normally plays TWICE that many points.
Right now, I've built:
4x Kabalite Warrior Units (10)
Each has:
1x Blaster
1X Dark Lance
1x Sybarite with Venom Blade
4x Bare Haemonculi (for the Pain Tokens)
1x Incubi unit (5):
-4 Incubi & 1 Klaivex with DemiKlaives
-Raider with Disintegrator Cannon, Grisly Trophies and Flickerfield
One or 2 haemonculi will mount up with the Incubi. Whatever is left will go with warrior units...
4x Kabalite Warrior Units (10)
Each has:
1x Blaster
1X Dark Lance
1x Sybarite with Venom Blade
2x Trueborn Units (4):
2x Shardcarbine
2x Splinter Cannon
2x Haemonculi (bare)
3x Haemonculi (Venom Blade)
2x Haemon w/Venom Blade will attach to Trueborn
Other Haemon will join other units
I don't think these lists are BAD, but I'd like to see what else others think.
I can put out:
25 Incubi
40 Warriors
30 Wyches
5 Raiders
3 Ravagers
15 Reaver jetbikes
10 Hellions
6 (proxied) haemonculi.

I want armies that aren't "sure to win" armies, but that still have a shot.
If I go up against them, I want to be using a relatively weak army, but one that can still get the job done if played right. Still should have some punch, though.
HtH or Gunline... I don't care.
Would really like to see a list with a Ravager in it.
Maybe Reavers and/or the Hellions, too.
Note that I don't mind proxying special characters, but they'd have to come out of the above listed models.
Thanks.
