Last Saturday at their first ever Lock and Load convention, Privateer Press
stopped the gaming so they could make several announcements. Though I
was there, Lost Hemisphere has actual pictures from the convention and a
bulleted list:

* Final concepts for the Trollblood and Skorne battle engines were shown

In case you're wondering, they're a buffalo drawn mounted gun (trolls) and
a needle cannon shoulder mounted on a giant beastie (Skorne). One of the links
at the end has pictures of the concept art.

* As well as two new warlocks and the Hordes battle engines, Domination will
include a new character warbeast for each Hordes faction
* The two warpwolves shown in the earlier pictures are metal versions of what
will be the Warpwolf warbeast kit. These will be released 2012. See? Told you to l
ook closer at the Stalker…

When they say "warbeast kit," they mean "plastic."

* 2012 will see a new anthology book each for both Warmachine and
Hordes, continuing on the stories in Wrath and Domination. These will
include… Asphyxious3 and Lylyth3.

In case you don't know, Asphyxious3 means that there will be another
incarnation of Asphyxious. Though most refer to original 'casters as pAsphyxious
and eAsphyxious (or pGaspy and eGaspy), Privateer Press has always left it
open for them to advance the Warcasters and Warlocks further by allowing
for a number designation. So an Asphyxious3 would be whatever Goreshade
turns into after being a Lich Lord

* Goal is to release two IKRPG books under a proprietary system for GenCon
2012. Warcasters and Warlocks will be playable. Other classes (eg Gunmage)
will have their own perks so as not to be overshadowed by Warcasters.
* IKRPG books will have art by the likes of Andrea Uderzo and Nestor Ossandon

I believe they mentioned specifically that Ossandon's art would take
center stage for the IKRPG books, and you can see his art among the
pages of Wrath.

Pretty much. It's Privateer's own con, and it was their first year, so it makes sense for them to make a good showing of it. Just wondering how much they saved for GenCon...

Might have found something...click on the first link in OP, look at the pic of the Khador troops...that thing standing to the right of them has a very scifi look to it...

Though it could be a Monsterpocalypse model, Im not too familiar with them. You guys take a look and let me know if its something new.

2 questions:

-A NEW character warbeast for each faction? That's crazy! Trollbloods already have Mulg, I wonder what we'd get... hadn't heard anything like this
-The battle engine art for trollbloods is OK... will reserve judgement till seeing an actual model

Somewhat disappointed that the Skorne battle engine isn't a giant ancestral guardian. Can't really judge it till I see its rules and model.

Can't really please everyone, but they did(according to people that were there) seem to go with the more asked for option: the big beasty from the end of the Witchfire Trilogy. Some people have been waiting for a model of it since the Skorne became a faction.

I'm a little disappointed that the only news we got about the IKRPG was that it'll release at Gencon 2012 and that warcasters and warlocks will be playable. Meh. I was hoping for much more info and an earlier release date... sometime later this year would have been awesome. As is, it looks like I can pretty much forget about the IKRPG again until next summer at the earliest.

I'm okay with companies like Blizzard and Privateer Press telling you
they're doing something but setting a distant date. You hope that that's
an indicator of quality.

Trollblood players in general seem to be disappointed with the artwork for the Trollbloods battle engine... seems really similar to the one that was just released being pulled by the horses.

That said, I think a buffalo or two pulling something like that would be much more convincing, and will reserve judgement. Seems like a dire trolls hauling something could've been awesome, though... lots of conversion potential here (mauler pulling two massive ropes, perhaps).

I don't know why they're disappointed. The troll with the gun sitting
all exposed is so much cooler looking than Mr. lone Winterguard rifleman.

I have a feeling it's because right now we have word of mouth and a somewhat blurry photo of a sketch projected on a screen. Probably when a clearer photo shows up on the site, this feeling of Khador copycat will go away.

It does, but it also doesn't really fit with any of the factions currently in MonPoc. If it is for MonPoc, then it's for a new group that we haven't seen yet - Series 7 or another Voltron-style release.

Actually, you're right. The aesthetic didn't look right to me, probably because the figure was in the background, but that's a GUARD model. In fact, it's a GUARD model that's already in the game. It's Legionnaire, the GUARD unit from the 'All Your Base' expansion (Series 3).

Thats cool. Never read the Trilogy - may need to look for it to see what this thing is.

I think once I know what it is, I'll like it more.

I talked with the CAD designer, 'cause I wanted to know what the big turquoise one was. It's an extra-large Khadoran Man-of-War that he had printed because he like the model. Apparently, he wants to do a full size suit one day.
