Ghamil Dnem fished a handkerchief out of his pocket and dried his face. The abominable heat was making him sweat like a pig. Why would an Inquisitor come to Prekora during the Burning season!?
Truthfully he didn't have a clue why an Inquisitor would come to Prekora at all.Tithes were paid in full and on time, mutants were put to death on birth and all psykers were given over to the Black ships. There hadn't even been a worker uprising in over a century. With the exception of the Burning season, Prekora was for all intents and purposes a paradise. The astropathic message he'd received the day before hadn't given him any insight either. It had just said that an Inquisitor by the name of Vicard Rayliss would arrive in two days and that Ghamil was expected to receive the Inquisitor when he landed, alone. And the bastard was late. For three hours he'd stood in the baking sun, waiting. One would expect Inquisitors to be punctual creatures.
Just as he finished the thought the landing platforms' vox-horns started blaring. He heard the monotone voice of a servitor chanting over the din, "Proximity alert! Incoming vessel! Proximity al...".
Finally. He looked up and saw the black shape of a spacecraft growing larger and larger and paled as he realized that the pilot was approaching at full speed. Insanity! They're all going to die!
Paralyzed with horror he couldn't even turn to run away. At the last possible moment the pilot pulled the crafts nose up and gunned the landing jets. The resulting pressure wave almost threw him to the ground and kicked up a cloud of dust and debree so dense Ghamil couldn't even see his nose.
As the dust cleared he found himself looking at a magnificent teal and white Aquila lander adorned with golden symbols of the Imperium and the Inquisition. The passenger compartment had just lowered and out stepped a man. He almost couldn't believe his eyes, "That's an Inquisitor!?".

So what's this you wonder.
Well I'll tell you. I decided to make a separate log for all my =][=munda stuff instead of cramming everything into my other log (link in my sig). Since about half the the minis I build are somehow related to inquisitors and the other is just a collection of miscellaneous things I thought it would make things simpler if one doesn't have to wade through everything else to get to the Inquisitorial goodness.
So without further ado here's the first character in the story, Governor of Prekora Ghamil Dnem.

Sorry about the bad pics but I took them late in the evening so I didn't have good lighting. I'll see if I can take better photos today.
So that's it for the moment. I hope you enjoy the story and C&C is welcome as always.

Nice fluff, mate! A few typos, sure , but really good stuff.

Nice work on the OSL of his bionic eye, BTW. My favorite part of the model for sure.

So, I know it's the burning season and all, but this guy's tan is kind of intense. Thought at all about toning it down?

When do we get to see pictures of the inquisitor?

Keep up the good work!

I like the background. I'm subscribed just because I want to know what happens next. I want to see the Inquisitor soooooo much.

As for the Governor I really like his bionic eye. The white/blue and yellow look good together also. I'd have probably gone for a slightly different hair colour as it matches the coat a little too much for my taste. The skin tone doesn't bother me in the slightest as its nice to see ethnic diversity in a galaxy spanning empire.

Thanks guys and I'm glad you like the OSL on the eye. I'm pretty happy with it myself. The skin is also intentionally dark. I was trying to create a pakistani/indian skin tone. I'm thinking it might be a bit too dark though. What do you guys think? I'll also be the first one to admit that the white hair might have been a mistake but I wanted to experiment with pale hair colors.
Here's some (hopefully) better pics of him.

Sorry about the typos in the fluff but that's to be expected as I'm not a native english speaker. As long as people understand what I'm writing I'm content.

As for the Inquisitor, he'll make his debut later in the story. But you can have some WIP pics of him and one of his minions.

The Inq need a lot of work still but the henchman is pretty much done. I just need to add a couple of grenades to his belt and make him hold a cigarette between his fingers.
While I absolutely love the scythe from the Empire Wizard kit, I'm thinking of changing it for something else. It looks a bit OTT now imo.
Maybe one of these would look better?

Opinions?

Here's the next part of the story.
Ghamil Dnem couldn't believe his eyes. Sure he'd never met an inquisitor before but he'd expected something a little more... regal.
The figure who had just stepped out of the lander looked dirty and disheveled. He wore what looked like shredded red coveralls and a tattered dark grey vest. Clasped around his ankles, wrists and neck were brass manacles and in his hand he carried a huge revolver.
"This can't be an inquisitor," he thought. "This...this is vermin! And now it was coming his way!"
As the man approached, all the while looking around himself as if looking for some unseen assassin, Ghamil noticed the dried blood caking the mans skin under the manacles and the large bruise around his left eye.
The scum stopped in front of him and croaked in a horse voice:
"You the guv'ner?"
The creatures breath almost made him faint.

And here he is.
Mr. Fesh "the Procurer"

The next part of the story will be added when I get the chance to finish another character for the story.

he he the new part of the story made me laugh. I can just see the indignation on the governor's face as a ruffian talks to him. I loved the bit about Mr Fesh's bad breath.I wholeheartedly approve of adding more to the story as more finished models are shown. Excellent.

Are you actually going to have a campaign with these models or are you just building and painting for fun?

The inquisitor: I like that you've used that model as a base, good idea. I do not like the idea of the Inquisitor floating though, its too alien/makes him look like a Dark Eldar. I think he should have his feet firmly on the ground. Weapon options... I preferred the laspistol over the blaster. I also agree with you on the scythe... way too big and clumsy looking, compared with the rest of the Inquisitor. I would personally go with the sword.

The autogun is simply made and effective. I hope you're going to drill out the barrel though.

Like I said, I'd stop by and say hello!

Fluff- always nice to get a glimpse of what the author/artist sees and fill it out with our general knowledge of the background.

The first figure is nicely painted, as pointed out, the OSL is lookin' sweet.

Is that flying guy supposed to be the inquisitor? Very cool, but if I was shown just the pictures, I would have guessed him to be a released Daemonhost of some sort. He is pretty frickin' awesome though- love the tubes sticking out of his back.

Finally, +1 for use of multi-company figures... It's my favorite part of this universe where you could have aliens, demons, a steampunk pirate, and a cybernetic ninja stand altogether and NOT look awkward.

Keep it up!

Glad you like it guys. And thanks for dropping by Iza. There's gonna be a lot more indignation in the next part so stay tuned. I'll also be adding some small biographies for the main characters as well as snippets of other trivia (details on Prekora, the burning season and the like...) when I get the chance.

Edit2: Almost forgot. I model and paint for fun. I would like to play Dark heresy but I have abominable luck finding gaming groups. :(

The inq need some GSing to tone down the alien influences(pauldrons, bulking out the torso, symbols and the like...) but he will remain floating. I saw a primaris psyker converted from a standing baneblade commander in my local GW store that inspired me. I'll ask them if I can take some pics of it next time I go there. I will make another model too for his "public" appearances. That one will be standing firmly on the ground. As he is a member of the Xenos Hybris faction (Yay! I learned to hyperlink! ) he will still be carrying some xenos equipment when dressed for battle(hovering mini). As for the gun, the pic with the blast pistol is actually a bit older then the one above it. I've had that Kal Jerico laspistol lying around for some time now with the intention to give it to my inq. I'm also leaning towards using the sword for the polearm but I'll try both of the blades tonight.

Edit: Yes. The barrel will be drilled... (almost didn't notice that)

Unfortunately I haven't finished anything so far thanks to this infernal heat (So...hot. Will...to...live...ebbing away) but I have made some progress.

Hopefully I can get something done today. I still have to buy some guitar string to finish the next character in the story.

Definitely warhammer fantasy empire plastic kits. Riflemen I think, could also be outriders or greatswords, I get them mixed, they are in one compartment of my bitzbox.

That's the interrogator I was talking about, so Greatsword.
But the guy on the left also has a Greatsword head. The servitor in the middle has a head from the Empire Pistoliers kit.

Nice update.

I like the young Interrogator a lot.

The bald guy on the left looks good too. I like the choice of torso and mixing it with scout legs . I'm not so sure about the space marine arm though

The gun servitor is again from me. I like that you've used an empire gun for his right arm, it great. The head is a perfect choice too. Oh and how simple just cutting the feet off to make it look less Space Mariney. My only criticism of the servitor is I think the GS hood could do with reworking. It currently looks stuck on and I think if you close it up a little it will give a much more sinister vibe.

Igandris - I hate using guitar wire for piping. But low and behold I found this http://www.freewebstore.org/zinge-industries/index.aspx?pageid=658634 The wire wrapped power cables are beautiful to use and so easy to position and they hold their shape. The scribe you've done looks good. Not enough models have random pipes coming out of their heads.

I agree with you on the hood. I actually ripped it off yesterday. My GS-fu still needs a lot of improving.

Practice makes perfect and Clay Shapers are the way of the future.

I'm also not too keen on the SM arm but I couldn't find anything better to use as a bionic arm.

Ah. Have you thought about changing the elbow pad? Its quite iconic. Maybe cut it off and green stuff on a differently shaped one?

Oh, gotta get me some of those cables!
But those and the clay shapers will have to wait until I get my next salary. The missus get antsy if I spend too much every month on "toys".
I think you're right about the elbow. I'm gonna try to make some adjustments tomorrow.

I've also decided to scrap the floating Inq. I'm gonna make it into something else for the story. I've already ordered some stuff from Forge World for the next incarnation of Vicard Rayliss.
Oh, almost forgot. Thank you for the hood sculpting tips you sent me PDH. They are going to be a big help tomorrow.

Liking what I see. Subbed.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

That inquisitor conversion is reallly nice, the commissar body is such on obvious choice for inquistors (due it it being quite detailed and ornate) its weird its not used more often. Simple yet very very effective and I'm sure it will be even better with some paint on it.

great work
