I am in a game next week teaming with a 2500 point Ork list and we are facign off against a 5.5k mix of IG and Sm (Blood Angels and Red Scorpions)

My Team mate will be taking:

I was thinking of dropping the Termeis in favour of a 400 point Doomdday Device.

YES!! The doomsday device is thee most awesome thing to use in Apoc. I had three in the last game I played.

Why do you have a Basilisk and MoTF? You are playing CSM right?

Other than that your model count seems really low. You have around 30 guys on the board, and in a 2500 pt game thats small. I mean you should be able to take out 3 trukks and a BW with your Oblits, LR, and Havocs. And with the amount of Pie Plates you're throwing out the other infantry is gonna be hard pressed to survive. My only oncern is that whats gonna happen if they reach you?

I think you misunderstood. I am teamign with the Orks. We are playing against a mix of IG and SM.


hence the low model count, my ork teammate is taking a bucket full of infantry so i am providing anti-armour.

I am indeed playing CSm but as it is Apoc and i am playing Iron Warriors i thought the MOTF woudl work as a fluffy HQ choice. PLus i have 3 Bassies that i never get to use.

i haven't actually finished making the Doomsday Device yet, how do you find they perform in game?

I like the Basilisk and MoTF idea with being IW. That makes sense. I just didn't know what was going on, cause IW was a 4th ed thing. Knowing this makes the list seem totally fine.

As far as the Doomsday Device goes, its really hit or miss. If you're lucky it'll go off on turn one. Its usually gonn take till turn three. Other than that, once its activated its hilarious to use. Just be careful in case you roll a 2 or 12. Also remember that it has three structure points, so don't be afraid to maybe put it out in the open a bit. I've always wanted to lure people close to it then rolling a 12 and killing everything.

Yeah the plan (assuming i can get it finished in the next wek or so) is to put it on some raised terrain for LOS but also quite central to amke the most of the potentially HUGE blast if/when it goes up in flames.

Its up to you. With the LR you will have a working unit on the board from the get-go. With the device you're gonna have to wait and theres still no gaurentee. If and when it goes off it'll do some damage for sure. The question is which unit would you prefer.

I took three of tem in a 75k game. And we played for over 18 hours and only got to the bottom of turn three. So I didn't get to use it too much. But the few times I got to it was always good.

Hmmmm, i think wehave agreed to up the points cost so i can take the Device. they are going to borrow my Shadowsword so they get something nasty to play with as well.


With that in mind i am now thinking of ditching the terminators anf fillign the Raider with Berzerkers instead. I figure i've got enough anti-tank so losing 2 chain fists and 2 combi meltas wont make too much of a difference.
