I'm trying to change up my normal medium ranged Space Marine army to have more long ranged shooting. Tactic would be to sit back and shoot using the Terminators for as much bubble wrap cover as possible and to keep the enemy from getting too close. Gateway to contest objectives or get across the board to someone who shoots better or has more shooting than me. What do you all think?

I like it. Not much else to say, really. It looks pretty scary, though it might be a little light on troops (20 models over 4 units is borderline not enough troops in my experience. 30 is much better, but do what you can).

Go try it out?

Some interesting elements and some not so interesting elements. I understand your plan with the Assault Terminators, but honestly with bubblewrap? They are a elite assault unit which cost serious points and definately shouldn't be used as bubblewrap. Anyone will just shoot at them if exposed taking them out at range before moving in to get at your none moving vehicles and auto hit :( . If you're gating the Assault Terminators then they need support or else been up front when everything else is lingering at the back means those Hammernators will be the sole focus on the opponents fire power.

Hey mercer... what do you mean by "bubblewrap"? Not familiar with that term in a 40k sense.

Bubblewrap = screening/cover unit usually used to protect more expensive/soft units.

Not what you use assault terminators for by a long shot. Usually you are talking grots wrapping lootas, guard platoon wrapping the front/sides of your tank line, or something of the like. If the list is intended to be "shooty" as stated then those terminators are eating up a lot of points that could be spent sending shots down range. They are probably better off left in the bag and something else used in their place here.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

agreed...

I would drop them,

also rather drop the rifle dreads... make them either Plas or TL las with DCCW... that way they don't need bubble wrap...

Add in another of the same dreads....

and if you still feel you need CC protection add a flamer Tac squad....

I am not really seeing the synergy with the libby powers though with shooting?

Though... a regular libby with null zone and gate attached to the sternguard might be interesting... he could blip them around the battlefield where they unleash all kinds of pain on whatever's in front of them. Hopping from spot to spot, turn after turn.

I would drop the Terms to 5, shave a few points elsewhere and add a LR. You have quite a bit of armor---and the pressure of a smoked LR moving up field with TH/SS terms will be a much bigger distraction than bubble wrap Terms. Plus, if you look across the table and realize you can simply out shoot them---you have a 20-21ish counter assault range with that LR. You can also use it to screen/hide your delicate las/plas Razors first turn.

It also gives the Libby a nice place to hide---and widens his Null Zone threat range. If they bring TH/SS terms to the fight (who doesn't?)---then you'll be one up on him---move the Raider up, dismount Terms---leave Llibby in---cast Null Zone---then proceed to beat whatever down.

I also think LS units would fit better in this army than MM/Attack Bikes---but that's an old argument that really never has a clear consensus.

Just thoughts.
