I have just started with a CSM battle force with
15 Chaos Space Marines (includes 1 Chaos Space Marine Champion, 1 Chaos Space Marine Icon Bearer, 1 Chaos Space Marine with heavy bolter and 1 Chaos Space Marine with plasma gun), 5 Possessed Chaos Space Marines (includes 1 Possessed Chaos Space Marine Champion), 8 Khorne Berserkers (includes 1 Skull Champion) and 1 Chaos Space Marine Rhino.
I want to know what HQ unit to use and what wargears should be used.
and i dont have a codex so can you please tell me how many points it will be when its all put together

The first thing you need is a Codex, not an HQ.

- Imperial Fists - 7290
- Deathskulls - 6150

It's against the law and against forum rules for us to give you the individual point costs instead of you buying a codex. I suggest saving up some money and buying one ASAP.

That said, the plastic Daemon Prince kit is an awesome and fun model to build, and the DP is certainly one of the best HQ options in the CSM codex. Other than that, the most important thing to get is more Rhinos, and then probably some Obliterators. Those are the next critical ingredients to a good CSM list.

A basic 1000pt army, building off of what you have already, might be something like:

Daemon Prince with Wings, Mark of Nurgle, Warp Time: 175
5 Chosen with 2 Meltaguns, 2 Plasmaguns: 140
Rhino: 35
10 Chaos Space Marines w/Icon of Chaos Glory and two meltaguns, including an aspiring champion with power fist: 220
Rhino: 35
8 Berserkers, including Skull Champion with power fist: 208
Rhino: 35
2 Obliterators: 150

998

---------------------

If you want to get playing ASAP with the models you have, you have enough to field a 500pt force easily. Use the possessed champion for an HQ, playing him by himself (well, attached to a unit) as a Chaos Lord or Sorcerer.

Maybe something like:

Chaos Sorcerer with Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission: 125
7 Berserkers, including Skull Champion with power fist: 187
Rhino: 35
9 Chaos Space Marines w/Plasmagun: 150

Step one: Buy Codex: Chaos Space Marines

Step two: Get Daemon Prince

Step three: Throw out the possessed. Maybe that should be step one? Actually I would recommend you convert them into more Berzerkers or Plague Marines....

Step four: Play a small game with whatever you have and see how it goes.

I think Prince and the New Power Generation would be my first choice and then equip it with mark of male/female symbol, but what do I know.

I'm actually thinking of going chaos as well so will be watching this thread, thanks for any help you can give him because your helping me too , thanks.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

MoN, if it's gonna be one of those choices. T6 is really beastly.

MoT can be cool if you use Warptime + Winds of Chaos to re-roll the wounding template, but it's kinda gimmicky and really expensive (points-wise).

The other option is MoS + Lash of Submission. It's a really, really good ability, and is the cornerstone to a lot of Chaos lists.

..........

If you're planning on doing 1500+ points, you'll want to invest in a 2nd identically kitted prince too.

- Imperial Fists - 7290
- Deathskulls - 6150

Lash of Submission wins games. Not Joke. I just won a 40,000+ pts Apoc game with it. But yeah...

DPs, PM, NM, Oblits, and Rhinos. Rhinos, Rhinos, Rhinos. Make sure everything is mech, or suffer the results. When I first started with CSM when the codex came out, literally the day it came out, I ran lash+PM+oblits. Who would have known it would become the cookie cutter for awhile. Anyways, what i'm trying to say is that you should play test things, use 'count as' models and see what you like, and what your play style is. CSM is a very diverse codex that lets you run a wide range of army types. And theres nothin worse than buying a unit you think is cool and then finding out they suck. So toy around with things, and use the resources on this site like articles and the tactics page.

Best of luck to you, and welcome to the dark side, the grass is greener here but it also changes color from time to time.

Plague Marines and Demon Princes! Oblits are great too. pretty much what billie joe said, play test play test play test. you cant really go by what everyone else uses if thats not your play style at all. and hell your chaos your play style will probably change a bit over time, i know mine has a lot haha.

Instead of PM, you could use CSM squads (with 2 meltas, IoGC) mounted in Rhinos.
